I always take out to snap a few photos of the catalog for my readers abroad plus I like to discuss it with all of you as well. So let’s dive in!
The vampy lip look is back this year however it appears blood red lips and goth black are out and are being replaced with plum. Plum isn’t only making an appearance on lips but lids as well. Purple is a hot commodity this Fall so you’re going to want to start digging through that stash to see what vibrant shades of delicious purples you can dig out. Leave softer shades like Lilac behind, we are talking outrageous, goth plummy shades to create a smoked out look with.
One thing that really caught my eye was the Illamasqua Liquid Metal Palette ($42). Up until now I haven’t really considered the Liquid Metals from the brand but after seeing the gold, red combo on Sephora’s model, I promptly fell in love. Mind you, I get more of a Holiday feel from the look but damn she looks incredible sporting those shades dontcha think?
Sephora took some user looks which I thought gave the catalog a super user friendly feel. It’s one thing to see models wearing awesome makeup but quite another seeing everyday chicklets like us wearing the different looks! Great call Sephora.
Tarina Tarantino’s Starchild Odyssey Collection slash what I dubbed the Rise of Ziggy Stardust gets a two page spread. I LOVE the promo images and of course, Tarina, as always, looks flawless in her profile pic. Granted if I purchase any of these items, I’ll never be able to dupe the look, but loves it all the same.
Kat Von D’s Adora Collection also gets a two page spread and Kat looks incredible. She’s sport the new Adora Eye Palette and Lipstick, plus her hair OMG, gorg (possible wig, extensions but so ace)! I got the palette and will look like I have a bruised eye I’m positive but not Kat, she looks flawless.
The catalog doesn’t have a ton of stuff to look through particularly if you’re an online hound that visits beauty blogs daily as hey you’ll have seen all of this stuff before. However, if you are living under a rock, you might find one or two new things to get excited about.
Not really one of Sephora’s best catalogs but not its worst either. I love some of the looks and enjoyed the user looks section.
