Summer Cheek and Lip Stains

I kid you not there was a time in my life I would not wear anything BUT Cheek Stain! I swore by the Morgen Schick Schick Stick (still do! I loved that thing).

I have drier skin so Cheek Stains have always had a crazy long wear for me plus I like the doll-like finish they give to my fuller face. I’ve grown out of them some but when Summer hits I’m all about shopping my own stash and pulling out all my favorite and beloved cheek and lip stains.

Here are some new cheek and lip stains to get excited about for Summer 2014!

Sephora Rouge Infusion Lip Stain $14
Unfortunately Sephora’s new Rouge Infusion is all about lips no cheeks here! But these lip stains leaves an intense long wearing color in a selection of 12 shades from you to choose from!

Shu Uemura Tint in Gelato $28
Shu went big with their Tint in Gelato Lip and Cheek Stain! They introduced this new product 12 shades! That’s pretty unheard of when it comes to cheek stain! It’s marketed as a product that varies in finish from sheer to bold with either a dewy of soft matte finish. I’m intrigued how it can switch up finishes like that?! It doubles up as either a cheek or lip stain formula so you can use on either areas or both! Count me curious! I’ll be reviewing these shortly.

YSL Baby Doll Kiss & Blush Lips & Cheeks $40
Yves Saint Laurent goes equally crazy with 12 color launch in their new Lip and Cheek stain. These promise an air-whipped consistency that’s a mousse formula with a matte finish which can be used on lips and cheeks. I’ve been testing them for the past two weeks and a review should be live tomorrow for them! Stay tuned!

Sephora Cream Lip Stain $13
These cream lip stains can’t be used on cheeks but I won’t tell anyone if you do try them on your face! They set on initially as a creamy liquid lipstick but sheer out and tranform to a lightweight high coverage stain that promises long wear.

What are some of your favorite lip and cheek stains?

I vote Vincent Longo! Those are my favorite cheek stains!

Any new cheek and lip stains to get about for Summer that you can recommend?

Do share them!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I may already own 3 of the Sephora Rouge Infusion Lip Stains, and I really like them! My only problem is that some of the colors aren’t as bright as you would think they would be, like Tangerine Ink. They layer really well, and the lasting power is pretyy good. I wouldn’t say 10 hours like Sephora claims, but I drink a whole of tea and water through my day.

One downside for some people will be the fact that they’re pretty heavy scented, kind of like a fruity bubblegum/candy smell. I like it, but it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea.

I don’t really mind the fragrance/flavor, it actually sounds nice to be! They sound lovely! I’ve been wanting to try them ! ;-D

Hello my beautiful Muse. It has been awhile since I last stopped by and commented, but just had to tonight. I wanted to tell you how awesome you are, as if you did not already know. I was reading one of your posts the other day (or week) about your stress from your real life job and dealing with the people you so often deal with on a daily basis. People take others for granted so often & I can imagine that could add on to the stress. So I just had to tell you that you’re fabulous. I don’t visit as often, but when I do, I read like 12 pages at a time and you bring me happiness. Life is hard and with Mother’s Day around the corner, it’s even harder for me this year, but it sure helps when people like you provide escapes for people like me. I don’t laugh as much as I use to, but when reading your musings, I laugh more than I don’t. So thank you Isabella. You’re doing so much more than writing reviews. Best wishes to you. And if I do not comment by mother’s day, wish your mama a Happy Mother’s Day from me.That’s who I so often took for granted. So give her a hug from a well-wishing stranger. And give yourself a high five in the mirror. You’re great.

MAC has a fabulous lip stain that lasts for hours — even after eating and drinking!

Ps Dear Muse, as per our previous conversation, I wore my hat on Easter Sunday. I did not chicken out! A choir member came up to me after the service and said, “On behalf of the choir, I would like to thank you for wearing that hat.”

    • Isabella Muse

yes! they do! 😀 sorry for the delayed reply Susannah been swamped. GOOD FOR YOU! 😀 brave girl! And everyone loved it too 😀 that’s great! Now next year you’ll be brave enough to do it again 🙂

  • Susannah

Thank you so much, Isabella. Let’s bring back hats!

btw, I wanted you to know that I recently purchased ‘Lock and Coated’ mascara sealer per your recommendation. It works! No more raccoon smudge under my eyes. Thank you for telling me about it.

    • Isabella Muse

Hey Susannah! lol sounds good 😀 We can have a tea garden party with our awesome hates on! ;-D YAYYYYYY! glad to hear it! I’m actually wearing it today 😀

  • Susannah

Lock and Coated stings slightly when I first put it on — not enough for me not to use it, but I did notice that. Does that happen to you?

love the idea of a tea party with hats!

    • Isabella Muse

no? not at all? that’s weird! Hmmm! wonder what that’s all about. Benefit use to have a stay on lacquer product (it was an all in one for eyes, face, mouth, etc) and that kinda stung on my eyes…well not stung but more it made me kinda tear up for some reason! 😀 yay! I’ll make the tea sandwiches! you’re in charge of the scones and cream!

When you come to Atlanta let me know and we will wear our hats to lunch. Atlanta still has dept stores that carry hats, as Southern women do wear them from time to time. The Atlanta Steeplechase and Easter Sunday are big hat events.

I imagine if you lived in the deep south it would be against the law not to wear a gorgeous hat to on Sunday ;-D
