NYX Luv Out Loud Liquid Lipstick Kind of Stupid!?

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

NYX Luv Out Loud Liquid Lipstick is a product that might have you wondering in the back of your mind, “How many NYX Liquid Lipsticks do ones person need?” It’s enough now NYX, step away from the liquid lipstick formula. I’m finding their endless launches of liquid lipstick borderline stupid at this point. It seems like they are just launching the same formula across the board with a new name.

Update: Someone mentioned proceeds or a portion of them might go to the Trevor Project when any Luv Out Loud purchase is made. If anyone can confirm that information I would appreciate it as I can correct my “kind of stupid” post title. Because if these do indeed support the Trevor Project they do deserve props even though we really don’t need more liquid lipsticks in our lives 🙂

Confirmed: The Luv Out Loud Collection will donate $6,000 to The Trevor Project and also giving you a chance to win $10,000 to donate to a cause you believe in. I deeply apologize if I offended anyone with my post of “Kind of Stupid” it was in no way referencing the Trevor Project just the launch of yet another liquid lipstick!

Stop.

Please.

Stop.

I dunno, I have my doubts but here’s what Luv Out Loud Liquid Lipstick is all about.

Available exclusively at Ulta these new velvety-matte shades (Hmmm that sounds familiar) are available in six shade selections. Inspired by confidence, fearless, and passion people these shades have feel good-names that inspire the wear to live and love out loud.

I must be terribly jaded when it comes to some of these makeup launches but I’m mentally rolling my eyes at the moment.

Sorry.

Shades include:

  • Confident
  • Fearless
  • Passionate
  • Extraordinary
  • Brave
  • Brilliant

I’m sorry NYX! I really do hope Luve Out Loud Liquid Lipstick is some excitingly unique and innovative formula but I have my doubts.

Time to focus on some other than liquid lipsticks ok?

Your fans are depending on you!

If Luv Out Loud Liquid Lipsticks interest you they are available exclusively at Ulta.com.

i wouldn’t mind trying them, but I am also hesitant because their last 2 launches have been disappointing. honestly my favorite nyx lippie is still the original soft matte lip cream that have a great texture and medium staying power. they are comfortable and while they don’t last all day are easy to reapply.

the lip lingerie was a huge fuss and I honestly didn’t like them asthey were too drying and transferred easily, and then there have been a couple more launches that were just – meh.
i don’t mind them trying again, but I’m not going to run to ulta to get it.

  • Hayley

They have so many lipstick launches, I just can’t keep up anymore! It’s not even just liquid, it’s just everything! I’m lost!

  • Sarah

I’m actually getting tired of liquid lipstick. Like…there’s something chic about applying a lipstick from the tube. And lately, I’ve been buying traditional lipsticks because I’m just so tired of the constant barrage of long-wearing super-drying liquid lippies.

I like them, I do. But holy overload, Batman!

  • Maria

It is funny Muse. I was thinking the same thing the other day with Nyx brand liquid lips. Way too many. I guess great minds think alike. Lol.

  • Kish

This is why you’re my absolute favorite! I’ve been thinking the same thing about NYX lately. I went to Ulta and I swear there were 7 different displays of liquid lipsticks, almost all matte. I couldn’t figure out what the difference was between any of them. Enough already. Create something unique!

    • Isabella Muse

it’s just TOO much how many do we need?! I get this is for a fantastic cause but jeez another round of liquid lipsticks!?

  • Joyce

I’m kind of over NYX in general. Their products have no differentiation. They have a billion products that it’s just a headache to even look at their display. They need a serious editing of their line and just keep the necessities and a few other things.

    • wendy

Not only that but their pricing is going up up up…anyone else notice that?

      • amy

Well, I guess they figure some of these other brands (Tom Ford, Charlotte Tilbury, KKW, Kylie, etc…) can charge exorbitant prices, why can’t they cash in, LOL! Besides, NYX is almost always on sale, so…

  • Carol G

Exactly. How many lip products have they launched and it’s the same damn matte formula. I, too, am rolling my eyes, Muse.

    • Isabella Muse

it’s too much! It’s for a good cause and I totally can get on board with that BUT it’s just like “another liquid lipstick!?”

      • Carol G

Oh I just read your update about them giving money to charity. My comment was made before that info was announced. I agree with you, not bashing the charity, just agreeing they need to stop with the endless amount of the same matte liquid lipstick. But props to NYX for contributing money to a charity. More companies need to do this. The cosmetics industry is flourishing right now and I definitely pay attention and make a mental note of the ones who give back vs. the greedy ones.

        • Isabella Muse

Don’t feel bad mine was as well! I didn’t even know about the charity thing until someone mentioned it on face book! It’s a gret cause but I agree we really don’t need more liquid lipsticks lol!

  • Jay

Hahahaha I can barely tell the difference between NYX products now! It’s too much. Lip suede, lip tattoo, lip oil, liquid lipstick, metallic lips. And holiday will be all about lip bundles. Sometimes it’s not all about being “different”…just be consistently good.

  • Kate

This is for a great cause! However, I do wish to see maybe some more satin moisturizing lipsticks. I know they have the butter lipstick or the round ones. Or I would be happy to see more blushes lol.

  • Megan

Hey Muse, this is off topic, but I was wondering what you think about brands starting to put GLITTER CHUNKS in skincare (Glamglow, Too Faced).

    • Isabella Muse

next big dumb trend? lol! I noticed Glamglow and Too Faced had sparkly masks coming out and shook my head. I love glitter but it seems silly!?

      • wendy

hahaha! I can see myself going to work with glitter on my face. My boss will think I’ve lost my mind!

        • Isabella Muse

I have no shame totally go to work with glitter on my face 😀

  • wendy

I gave up on NYX lippies awhile back — like you said there are so many and the colors are very limited — then on some — all the colors look the same. But at 55, I don’t think I’ll be wearing purple lipstick. Give us some more naturals NYX

    • amy

Are you kidding? NYX has literally *dozens* of natural/ neutral shades! In fact, most of my neutrals are NYX, and I have a ton of lippies, with neutrals being what I wear most!

  • Susan

Nyx has way too many of a lot of things: liquid lip products and eye liners, to name a couple. Their displays, like at Ulta, are crowded and confusing. At least these “Luv” lippies are cool-toned, although I won’t be buying any of them (die, matte lip fad, die!).

  • Heidi

Good cause, but I’m over NYX liquid lipsticks, especially if they’re matte formula. I tried a few in the last few years and every single one of them tasted like weird fake chemicals to me. Sadly I liked those soft matte lipsticks (not the creams) and they were on the NYX site for a hot second, and now Ulta has them on clearance. And I liked those! They didn’t even get a chance to succeed.

  • Melissa Holloway

this has left me clueless of which one to try since they have so many and i do not want to buy each one !! i don’t own any of their liquid lipsticks, i do own their lip cream that has been around forever..i think it has got crazy in the makeup world lately with re-releasing all kinds of products just in different packaging, i mean how many neutral eye palettes do i need LOL for example

    • Isabella Muse

They all seems like they have the same formulas with really subtle differences!

      • amy

There are those who swear by one formula, and absolutely hate another. It seems Liquid Suede & Lip Lingerie are very divisive, and people either love or hate the Liquid Lip Creams… I personally have no preference, and make my choices based on color.

        • Isabella Muse

I typically make my choice based on color too not necessarily formula. I just find the endless round of names for the almost the same formulas a little ridiculous. Mmm liquid suede and lip lingerie seem to have the same consistency to me but the set is a little different but maybe I’m not entirely a great judgement of long-wear lipsticks!

  • amy

I’m in the minority here, but I have absolutely no issue with this release. Apparently, there is still a call for liquid lippies, or Kat von D wouldn’t be expanding her range, Charlotte Tilbury wouldn’t have just released a range… As long as the market is active, we’ll see more. It will only die out once consumers stop buying. Of course, that could be a few months ago, and we’ll all be stuck with a slew of barely used products, which I why I choose to buy NYX over more expensive brands…

If these shades appeal to me, and I don’t have to jump through hoops to pick one up, I may indulge.

    • Isabella Muse

I completely agree. There is indeed a call for them. People love them! I’m the one in the minority here that hates them. It seems like an endless array of liquid lipsticks. I probably just hate because my lips are dry and the formula isn’t exactly forgiving on driver lips! I have issues with the fact they keep releasing what appears to be the same exact product under a new name. A lot of these formulas are SOoooooo similar. NYX can do so much more, we’ve seen it before, I just wish they’d stop recycling!
