L’Oreal Crushed Foils Metallic Lipstick ($9.97) is a new metallic lipstick that launched with the L’Oreal Crushed Foil Collection available exclusively at Walmart. I’m not a terribly big fan of metallic anything as I find the finish is too frosty on me but I have to admit to falling in love with a few of the shades in this collection so I am guilty of indulging but overindulging as I only grabbed one shade.

L’Oreal Crushed Foils Metallic Lipstick (0.15 oz) arrive in rather frustrating packaging that feature a zip lock seal-like cap and a twist bottom. The shape and size will prove irritating if you like your lipsticks to be all one informed style/size. I’m actually a little surprised these are $10 each as I expected them to be a little cheaper at Walmart!

Don’t quote me but I believe L’Oreal offers these in three shades and I purchased the shade Copper. Cooper is pretty much your standard metallic orange-y copper shade with silver shimmer in the mix. It’s a really gorgeous shade but I’m not so keen on how it looks on me. I just can’t pull off metallics unfortunately! This formula sinks into my natural lip lines and gives me that dry look.

L’Oreal Copper Crushed Foils Metallic Lipstick Swatches (Cooper)

I thought the texture was nice with a slightly slick-feel that was thin and glided easily onto my drier lips without any flavor or fragrance. I get a four hour wear but as the color fades it leaves behind a bit of weird frostiness that has to be wiped away. The color didn’t migrate or feather but as I mentioned above it does settle into my natural lip lines right after application.

All in all, L’Oreal Crushed Foils Metallic Lipstick wasn’t really for me. The formula seems nice enough but I don’t really like how it looks on my lips! I can doctor it up with clear gloss and that helps but that takes away a little from the highly reflective metallic finish.

L’Oreal Crushed Foils Metallic Lipstick is available now at walmart.com.

I honestly think this looks really nice on you!

But I get your aversion. I have a couple neutral metallics that I still attempt once in a while, but that is the extent of it for lips.

    • Isabella Muse

thanks Jen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Likewise, I’m always hauling them out and trying to make them work but I feel weird in them!

      • The Samurai

The color’s very pretty on you, but I don’t like the metallic finish either. You can wear a wide variety of lip colors and finishes, so I’d leave the metallics on the shelf at Walmart.

You deserve better. These just don’t do you justice, Muse.

        • Isabella Muse

Thanks Samurai! I def don’t like metallics and try to avoid them 🙂

  • Agona

I am totally obsessed with metallic lips right now, though I do tend to stay in the red/pink family with an occasional rose gold. I am not a big fan of the coppers/bronzes on me or the dark berries/mauves.

    • Isabella Muse

I am too I just WISH they looked good on me 😀

  • Beth

I haven’t tried the lipstick but the pink glitter pressed shadow that is part of this collection is amazing you should try it patted on the lid it’s stunning!

    • Isabella Muse

I tried those! Couldn’t find the pink but got the gold and green and loved ’em 😀

I went looking for this collection this weekend and no go.
Some of those eyeshadows look pretty. Want to see everything in person.

    • Isabella Muse

I had a problem finding it too but finally lucked out!

  • Magenta Wilde

It looks pretty on you, but if you don’t like them, then you don’t like them. I am not a fan of metallics either. The only one I’ve ever really liked was Lipstick Queen’s metallic wine, and that’s about it.
I’m not sure about this packaging. I’ll give L’Oreal points for something different, but it doesn’t appeal to me…

That color Muse! Love the color but sadly I’m with you on the metallic finish. Just nope. I think my aversion maybe comes living through the frosty pink lipstick era. I see those throwback pics now and just shudder! I’ve yet to see a metallic lip on anyone in real life that looks good. Maybe if you’re very young with nary a line and have lips like Angelina Jolie. Maybe.

    • Isabella Muse

thanks Deb! Even Twiggy looked bad in frosty lipstick lol ;-D

  • ChynnaBlue

It’s a lovely color, but I’m also in the “I don’t like metallic lip colors on myself” camp.

  • Ashley

still really fun none the less. I’m so going to check these out!! I like the shade, its different, unexpected.

  • Adrienne

I am on a bronze/copper thing right now so I was happy that you chose copper to be your first swatch. I think it looks really good on you but I totally get what your saying. My UD liquid lip in Conspiracy “metalized” looks great for a while but wears away and left a gritty silver sparkle that wouldn’t go away, but you know what worked ironically? That Milani lip scrub from your other post. Unfortunately i had to walk around after lunch for 4 hours like that. Lol.There are two versions of the lip scrub but I have the same one you do and love it. Apparently it didn’t do so well at my Target I got it for less than $3.00

    • Isabella Muse

thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, this does that too! So gross. And than it’s impossible to wipe away ya know? Are there two versions!? No kidding! I didn’t know that! SWEET deal! I paid $10 and felt kinda bad about paying that much for drugstore lip scrub but since it worked I felt a little better about the purchase 😀

  • wendy

eeew the packaging is awful. cheap looking, like dollar store shyt.

    I think I’ll pass. lol

  • Kimmwc03

I was shocked no one was talking about these when I bought the eye shadow over a month ago. I’m not a big fan of metallic lippies but the shadows in this collection are gorgeous!

    • Isabella Muse

I don’t think people realize the collection is out there! L’Oreal didn’t advertise it much and it seems exclusively at walmart!

      • Carol G

I saw it advertised in Allure as “only available at Walmart” but the one I went to didn’t have one thing. So either I missed the boat or the collection is forthcoming? I can’t figure out which. It was advertised in this month’s Allure which means it should be out but with some people commenting above they got the eyeshadows a month ago, I am confused! But then Muse, you just purchased the lipstick this week so I guess I’ll keep looking. Really want the eyeshadows.

        • Isabella Muse

I think it is exclusive to walmart so allure is right. I actually purchased it a few weeks ago (earlier last month). So it is out and about just not at every store I guess! It is online if that helps at all!
