Addiction Toyko Coming to the US but Under Jill Stuart Beauty?

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

The Jill Stuart Beauty US has finally closed and posted the following message on their website.

Jill Stuart Beauty U.S. has closed.
We are so grateful for the beautiful #JILLGIRL community. Thank you for your support and inspiration over the years.
You can still shop for select Jill Stuart Beauty products at our retail partners Beautylish and the FLIP appr.

But today, I did get an interesting e-mail from Jill Stuart that said “Coming Soon” with a link and when clicked it leads to their website and displays the Addiction Tokyo logo with a coming soon and be alerted to know when box. Hmmmmmm…..! I’m not sure what Addiction and Jill Stuart have to do with each other outside of sharing the same parent brand, Kose. Obviously this means Addiction is launching in the US which is very exciting. But on the other hands, does this also, mean any old links to Jill Stuart Beauty will automatically revert to Addiction going forward? And does this also mean that the email list for Jill Stuart is converted to Addiction going forward?

Who knows but whatever is brewing is exciting as Addiction is a beautiful brand and very much worth looking into when it does get a US launch.

I’ll be following this launch closely and will update you with details!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. If you’re that person feel free to reach out and leave a comment or follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Bloglovin‘.

This is the best news ever! I always pick up something from Addiction whenever I someone I know travels to Asia, and I’ve often purchased from Japan/Hong Kong based sites that sell Addiction. No one does sparkly eyeshadow quite like they do. I am sad at the loss of Jill Stuart, though, because their blushes are lovely, and I do buy quite a few shades in the limited edition packaging.

I think the problem with Asian beauty brands selling in America is that the softer style of makeup, even with brands like Addiction, Suqqu, Shu Uemura, Lunasol, Surratt, etc. that have higher pigmentation than most Japanese brands, is just not what the majority of Westerns like at that price point. These are luxury brands. Yes, K/C/J Beauty is popular, but most of the brands sold are at lower price points. I don’t see Hera palettes (higher end) selling as well as Clio, for example. It’ll be interesting to see how well Addiction does here. At the very least, they’ll have a lot of sales through me. Haha!
