Butter London Wink Cream Eyeshadow Review & Swatches
Butter London Wink Cream Eyeshadow launched earlier this year with the Butter London Makeup Collection but more recently Butter London launched a London Boho Rock Collection with new shades of Butter London Tinted Balm, Wink Cream Eyeshadow, Wink Eyeliner, as well as a range of polishes.
The shades are quite different for Spring as where as everyone goes pastel for Spring this collection is more about a natural look and that’s reflected in the beautiful colors launching with this release.
Let’s take a look as I have the Treacle Wink Cream Eyeshadow in my hands at the moment which is one of the limited edition shades available in this collection.
Take a look!
Butter London Treacle Wink Cream Eyeshadow ($18) is one of four shades launching with the Boho Rock London Collection this Spring. This collection is available at Ulta.com and should be arriving in stores now.
I’ve tried some of the Butter London Cosmetics and so far I’ve been a bit hit and miss on it. I have yet to try the Wink Cream Eyeshadow so I was excited to dive right in with this review. I also recently ordered another shade of the shadow from this collection but after trying Treacle it might just go back.
Treacle
This formula is more an eye gloss versus a cream eyeshadow. It has a very nice creamy consistency with an easy to blend and apply formula however, it remains “wet” a little too long for me and sets very slowly which I disliked. I also didn’t love how sheer it blended out and no matter how much I blended the creaminess of the product would break down and go more glossy versus providing any color. Once set it wears fairly well on my drier eyes but the slow set is a bit irritating as I feel like I can’t blink for fear it’ll crease.
If you like color washes and or eye glosses I’m sure you’ll love this. However, if you want a more traditional eye cream formula that has excellent color pay off and a shorter set time you might be disappointed. Although beautiful in the tube this really lacks pigment once applied and blended and just creates a rather sheer layer of shimmer and a wash of color that’s really natural!
I’m hoping the other shade I ordered will prove better.
