Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme A Nice, Lighter Dupe of Kilian Love, Don’t Be Shy

Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme is a nice, lighter dupe of Kilian Love, Don’t Be Shy and at a much more affordable price tag! I wanted to feature this in a review of sorts today because so many of you had ordered the smaller travel spray of Kilian Love, Don’t Be Shy and proceeded to email asking if I knew of a cheaper dupe because a bottle of Love, Don’t Be Shy will set you back $240. Ouch! Honestly, I do recommend the original because it’s pure marshmallow orange blossom-y joy! It’s super sweet and the perfect gourmand in my humble opinion. If you can indulge I highly recommend taking the plunge and buying the original.
However, for those that can’t or don’t want to spend that much on a bottle of fragrance Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme is a nice option. Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme is actually a nice option for those that found Love, Don’t Be Shy a bit too sweet as this is a lighter, less sweet version!
One of the most unique aspects of Pour Femme is it’s ability to mist right out of the bottle and envelope you in a gorgeous layer of scent. You don’t get alcohol here you just get straight fragrance. I found it’s rare for a fragrance to just come out of the bottle and smell like it’s supposed to. Typically you get a bit of the alcohol and as it settles onto your skin the fragrance develops. Not the cases with poor Femme! It’s straight fragrance right away!
The notes ares can be misleading as there’s raspberry, neroli, mandarin orange, orange blossom, jasmine, marshmallow, vanilla, sandalwood, and heliotrope. Out of all those notes you’ll likely smell all of three of them maybe four! When you have all these notes you expect a fragrance to be complex and breakdown from the top to the middle and finally towards the base. I just get the base of the fragrance with a few of the middle notes. It instantly hits the air and I smell marshmallow mixed with orange blossom and a bit of warmth from the neroli. No raspberry and no zesty layer from the mandarin orange! I’d like to say I smell something slightly floral and that may be the jasmine but the orange blossom and marshmallow mix are heavier and drown that note out unless you really concentrate on it you’re not going to smell it.

These is lighter and much less sweet compared to Love, Don’t Be Shy. Love, Don’t Be Shy has more depth and sweetness where as Pour Femme is more delicate. Don’t let the lighter side of this fool you though the silage is still amazing and surrounds you in a warm, snugly layer of scent! It lingers and has a beautiful throw to it and will garner attention and questions about what that lovely scent is you’re wearing. In some ways, it’s a superior version of Love, Don’t Be Shy as it’s a bit less intrusive and in your face.
I highly recommend Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme if you like orange blossom fragrances. It’s sweet but not too sweet, it’s feminine, has a certain cuddly warmth, and it’s simply beautiful! And much more affordable compared to Love, Don’t Be Shiny.
