Does Your Makeup Match Your Personality?

Does your makeup match your personality? Are you a fun, outgoing person that wears bright, bold colors? Or a more serious one that perhaps wears subtle shade? I am forever always guilty matching my makeup to my clothes.

Oh my god I admitted that.

Yeah, it’s a problem. I tend to wear a yellow shirt and suddenly I want to wear gold or yellow eyeshadow. I’ll wear green chucks and suddenly I want to do a green eyeshadow look! So my makeup actually does match my clothes just not my personality.

I’m a very sweet, very loyal, very trustworthy, goofy, silly, sarcastically funny (not everyone gets my humor), nerdy kind of girl. I laugh too hard, I laugh too often, I smile all the time, and I’m shy at first when I meet someone new but quickly become chatty AF if I like you. I love hard, I’ll give you the very shirt off my back if I think you need it, I like to take care of the people I love, and I’m always honest. I forgive easily. I put 1000% into everything I do.

I don’t think my makeup really matches my personality though! I think my personality shouts bright, fun colors! I used to love wearing bright, loud eyeshadow shades but nowadays I prefer more subtle, natural looks. And dare I say matte is my finish of choice. So, nope, my makeup doesn’t match my personality at all anymore!

My makeup may be more subtle nowadays but my personality still remains as silly and goofy as ever.

    I’m actually a pretty shy person who wears super girly clothing fully of dresses/skirts (I don’t actually wear pants except for workout leggings to workout) and lots of flowers and lace. You would think my makeup would be full of neutrals, and while I do wear soft pinks and peaches, my preference is for bolder colours. Neutrals are just soooo boring to me, and I think they look muddy against my skin. I’ll wear a toned down version for work, but give me colour any day.

        I’m only outgoing with people I connect with. YOU! 🙂 But put me in a big group, even if it’s with people I know, and I’ll be that quiet shy one who just listens to everyone talk.

    I’ve been super boring lately with makeup. I use to have more fun. I don’t think my makeup (or lack thereof) matches my personality too well. Or, maybe, I’m just more bland than I thought!

    Scary. I’d better grow up. I think my m/u matches my college self, maybe? Always did a lot of bold, esp lips, after the older go-round of concealer lips. I still love bold, but am getting into cool neutrals, more age-appropriate.

    Hey, I always match my makeup to my clothes, at least in undertone, no shame in that. 🙂 And yeah, I’d say so, on some level. I’m a very “march to the beat of my own drum” sort of person and my makeup is the same.

    Musey, I am so glad you admitted you match your makeup to your OOTD… Because I do too! And it’s such a 1987 thing to do but I don’t care. I think my make-up matches my personality. I’m mostly quiet, an observer, even with my closest friends, but I do have a loud funny side with a dry, sarcastic sense of humor. I wear all kinds of color & finishes… I just got into trying matte eyeshadow. I used to be all about shimmer, but being almost 48 (April baby here), I figured it was time to embrace the mattes. I still LOVE my sparkles, though. I don’t care if I’m too old for it!! And, as always, I think you are divine and so lovely, inside & out!

If I wear a green shirt I want to wear green eyeshadow to go with it ;-D I love my sparkles too you aren’t alone but I finally learned that mattes aren’t too bad a deal either ;-D You are soooo sweet!     Interesting thought exercise. I suppose my makeup reflects my life philosophy. Pragmatic, practical. I use makeup to correct issues. Dark circles, less than ideal eyebrow growth and direction. Same for eyelashes.

    Felt tip eyeliner in blackest black is an amazing tool. One can get right into base of eyelashes.
    Art theory really applies here. In college, an art instructor did an entire module on lines. The effect of lines.
