Real Techniques Real Clean In-The-Clear Eye Makeup Remover ($7.70 after coupon) is a new bi-phase formula that removes eye makeup with a formula infused with Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C hydrate and brighten the skin. Yeah, I know. The vitamin C sounds weird but they market it as a good way to treat dark circles. I don’t think any of my eye makeup removers have every had Vitamin C in them but here we are! This formula is dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested, making it safe to use around the eye area as per the brand and it’s cruelty-free and vegan!
I picked up Real Techniques Real Clean In-The-Clear Eye Makeup Remover the day it launched on amazon.com for $11. It’s a 4 oz bottle which isn’t too badly priced for the size but they did lower the price as it now as a little coupon you can clip for 30% off. I feel like the $7.70 price tag is a little nicer than the $11 one.
I’m always on the hunt for something to replace my beloved Lancome Bi-Facil because I’m cheap when it comes to eye makeup remover and just want to spend $5 bucks for something to remove my eye makeup. It’s something I use daily and I always fill like I run through it fast and replacing it can get costly. I’ve found a few I like but none as great as Lancome’s formula.
Real Techniques Real Clean In-The-Clear Eye Makeup Remover won’t be replacing my Lancome Bi-Facil but it’s nice enough if you don’t wear heavier eye makeup or waterproof mascara. This is a fragrance, cruelty-free and vegan formula. It’s bi-phase so shake it up before each use as the oil becomes separated from the water. It’s light and not greasy feeling and didn’t dry my eyes out and removed most of my makeup but I did need to use about two ee cotton rounds to get it all off. It struggled a little with waterproof mascara so I had to go in a few times to get all my eye makeup off. I had no issues with this irritating my eyes nor did it create any cloudy vision the way the Real Techniques Real Clean Makeup Removing Balm did. I was concerned the Vitamin C would sting or burn but I didn’t have any issues. Not sure how I feel about having it in my eye makeup remover and doubt it’ll do anything to brighten up my eyes but the idea is an interesting one.
Real Techniques Real Clean In-The-Clear Eye Makeup Remover might be a nice pick if you wear lighter eye makeup but if you use eyeliner, waterproof mascara, and do heavier eyeshadow looks this might not be the formula for you. I probably won’t repurchase this formula as I do use waterproof mascara and do pigmented shadow looks and this struggled removing all that without going in for several swipes. It’s a nice affordable pick up with the coupon but not sure it’s a must have!
