Who is here for those flawless, immaculate L’Oreal HIP vibes that the new Danessa Myricks Beauty Lightwork V: I Am Palette For Eyes And Face is serving up? If you’re old school you remember L’Oreal HIP Makeup Collection from the early 2000s that was the drugstore’s world Urban Decay-like offering. They had lipglosses, eyeshadows, and other funky and bold shades that were pretty edgy for the world of drugstore makeup.
Here are some super old pictures from 2009 that I took from a review I did on the L’Oreal HIP Metallic Shadows! Those were the days weren’t they? If I think back these weren’t as great as I thought they were back then. But I was pretty convinced they were awesome at the time! They were just shockingly awesome for something available at the drugstore that’s for sure. Well, Danessa Myricks is definitely tapping that nostalgia whether it’s knowingly or unknowingly with this new Holiday 2023 Beauty Lightwork V: I Am Palette For Eyes And Face! You can’t tell me this doesn’t look and feel L’Oreal HIP!
This palette is $125 and filled with 18 shades and six different finishes inspired by “I am” affirmations. They can be used on eyes and face and offer an array of different, dazzling finishes and textures. Formulas and textures include Heavenly Halos, Fusion Flakes, Silk Press Shifters, Whipped Powder Shifters, Molten Metals, Suede Shimmers, and Cushion Chromes.
I’ll tell you one thing they look HIP but I’m better the formula is way better. I have a feel these are going to provide some awesome sparkle. Do I want it? Yeah, I kind of do. Do I need it? Probably not as I have enough sparkly eyeshadows to last me into the next lifetime. It sure is tempting though. Sadly, it isn’t what I’d want or expect color wise from a Holiday palette but that seems normal lately as a lot of brands are embracing very interesting shade ranges for their Holiday releases like pastels or hot pinks.

Even at 20% off I probably can’t be tempted to spend that much on this palette but if it does hit a major sale bump I’d be willing to pick it up! How about you?
