Lactic acid treats hyperpigmentation and age spots and addresses a dull and uneven complexion. Unlike other acids, Lactic Acid has a milder formula. This is also formulated with Mandelic Acid. Mandelic Acid is also a more gentle exfoliating acid. It acts to loosen dead, dull skin to reveal the more healthy skin beneath it. Unlike other acids, Mandelic Acid is a bit slower to penetrate the skin’s outer layer which makes it more gentle. Glycolic Acid is the big boy in this formula. This formula sounds fantastic to say the least and according to L’Oreal your skin will look brighter and smoother within two weeks by using it four times per a weeknight. That seems excessive but Bliss’s BlissPro Liquid Exfoliant is recommended for daily use. I like to use acids very carefully and likely use this once a week. That being said, I won’t be using it at all. Why? Because the second ingredient in the formula is alcohol. It comes as no great surprise as 90% of L’Oreal’s skincare unfortunately contain alcohol but it is disappointing having a great formula overall that contains not only alcohol but also, fragrance. The alcohol in this can potentially break down collagen and dry skin.
I have a feeling my social media feeds will start filling up with reviews on the L’Oreal Bright Reveal Dark Spot Exfoliant Peel very soon. I’m sure they’ll all be incredibly positive and how great this is and how life-changing it is for your skin but user beware. Remember to do your research before you indulge.
