Tarina Tarantino Beauty Jewel Shadow Palette Delightful Review, Swatches, Photos
The Tarina Tarantino Beauty Collection has been recently extended at Sephora to include a new range of Jewel Shadow Palettes. These palettes used to be reserved for special seasonal releases as you might recall the shape and size of the oval compact is reminiscent of last year’s Holiday 2010 Palette.
This is now a standard part of the collection and has replaced the single eyeshadows that the brand used to offer. I personally like the idea of a palette rather than a single shade as it offers variety or a single look with contrasting shades of shadow.
I’m a huge fan of the newly revamped packaging as well since it’s a bit slicker and more mature. I decided to review each of the shades separately that I have since the formula seemed to vary from palette to palette.
Let’s take a peek at the Jewel Shadow Palette in Delightful today.
Each of the palettes feature a different face plate mimicking the shades inside. In this case the face palete is a warm, bronze-y orange and inside you’ll find nude, natural shades of browns. The border of the compact features a chain of flowers, hearts, ribbons, butterflies, and skulls….one part whimsical, two part girly, and a little of the macabre thrown in for good measure.
The compacts are well made and feature a generously sized mirror inside. The oval shape fits neatly in the palm of my hand, has a decent weight behind it, and should safely travel if you wish to pack it up with you.
Delightful was a little confusing for me as I lack creativity. You have to make things easy for me when it comes to pairing up several shades of color and these shades just seemed a touch on the mismatched side.
The palette includes a delightful white gold, a taupe-y brown, a iridescent peach, a pale iridescent pink, and a tea brown. Outside of the tea brown which acts as a liner all the shades have a frosty finish. I don’t do so well with frosts I fear so these come across very shimmery and disco-like on my eyes no matter how much I blend. For my look below I used the cream as a highlighter, the peach all over my lid, and the taupe-y brown blended half way into my crease. The pink..well…I wasn’t sure what to do with it so I left it out.
Delightful proved an ickle tricky for me to work with as the colors seemed a tad uneventful and washed out plus the frosty finish was lethal however if you like lighter, frosty shades these have excellent color pay off, an easy to blend formula, and a fair of of shimmer to enjoy you might want to see this one out. As for me the mismatched shade selection and frosty finish prevented me from loving on this one sadly.
