Sana Morning Kiss Skincare Makeup Base Review & Swatches
Oh, Sana Morning Kiss Skincare Makeup Base I love you so!
Japanese brand Sana is fond of releasing gimmicky products, I should know, I’ve tried most of ’em but I must say I’m utterly in love with their new Morning Kiss Skincare Makeup Base. It’s not only cute but practical too!
Take a peek!
This little pump jar primer has a soft rose scent (it kinds smells like some sort of fresh hand cream) and acts as a makeup base, primer, sun protection, and skincare all in one.
You can skip moisturizer if you like and apply this prior to foundation to give skin a super soft, smooth finish. The formula is a watery base with a hydrating feel that glides on and absorbs easily leaving behind a soft finish sans stickiness or oil. I think it’s rather fabulous that it contains SPF 30 for UV sunscreen protection. If you’re wanting to just use it as a moisturizer/SPF all in one you can easily do so as it multitasks easily as such particularly if you have oily skin and don’t need a heavier facial moisturizer or SPF. Of course this is mild sunscreen so don’t spend hours of your day out in the sun with it as protection.
The color is a light, pink shade so it gives a very natural tint to skin that looks fresh and pretty. A no makeup up look if you will. I used this all last weekend (in the evenings) while I was away as my base, sunscreen, and makeup with a hint of cheek stain, mascara, and lipgloss. It gave me a natural, no nonsense look that had my two of my friends asking what I was wearing.
I will say I do find it a little TOO moisturizing if I use facial moisturizer and SPF prior…it’s a little too much. So I think I’ll keep it to evening use or Winter when I can get away with applying all three products.
It eases the way and preps very nicely for foundation as well particularly BB Creams as it allows them to have a lovely glide across skin and eases blending.
Overall, Sana Morning Kiss Skincare Makeup Base is absolutely adorable. I love this stuff. Sana occasionally produces some lemons but all is forgiven and forgotten when they give us little gems like this one.
Dry skin users will love it.
I got mine at AlphaBeautyUK on E-bay for $18.95 plus shipping. It typically retails for 1,500 yen in Japan so not TOO too bad with the price jack however, if you take the 30% off that most Japanese drugstore’s have you might feel a little jipped off.
