Take a look!
Sweet Tooth and Cheery Cherry
MAC originally launched MAC Mineralize Tinted Lip Balm with MAC Apres Collection a few short months ago. I’ve heard them being likened to Suntints but I find they are a product all their own.
MAC Mineralize Tinted Lip Balm are $19.50 at a size of 0.33 oz. The price is disappointing as Suntints are the same size and were $15.50 each. Aside from price the formula is definitely not Suntint like as there isn’t any stickiness or tack with these but more of a smooth, gel-like feel that’s comfortably lightweight and plush on lips!
I personally love the texture as they feel weightless yet have a super shiny finish. I’d say they were a cross between a lip balm and a gloss. They have a nice hydrating feel through the wear with a texture that’s very similiar to MAC Lip Conditioner in the old pot packaging or the Body Shop Lip Balm. The smoother formula enables to the balm to glide onto lips easily and flawlessly.
I love them but…!
They seriously lack pigment. Almost all the shades I’ve tried look identical on my mouth and that’s the case with two of the new shades I tried with the MAC Baking Beauties Collection sad sigh! You really have to look closely to see any visible tint.
MAC perfected the formula on these and I could see myself getting excited about purchasing more IF they did something about the pigment. The glossiness, the moisture factor, the comfortable wear and plush feel they give my lips are all excellent benefits but the lack of color disappoints. It’s not really all that bad a thing considering some of these shades launched with the Baking Beauties Collection wouldn’t be terribly flattering on me as these are paler, pastel colors.
They still get a Muse Approval for me, colors aside, as the formula is excellent. So if you missed them the first time around I’d definitely explore them this time.
They launch on April 18th at MAC counters and online at maccosmetics.com
