Anastasia Beverly Hills Riviera Eyeshadow Palette ($45) is a new, limited edition Spring/Summer 2019 14 shade palette that contains bright pops of color combined with a few warmer neutral shades. I’ve become quite boring in my old age which means this eyeshadow palette wasn’t terribly appealing to me but I love Anastasia’s eyeshadow formula so much that I decided to purchase it and see if I could get some fun looks out of it for Spring and Summer.

The palette is made in the USA however, it does contain three pressed pigment shades that are “not intended for use around the immediate eye area”. Stupidly, I noticed this AFTER I played with it. The shades are Bahamas, Cannes, and Palm. Palm came as a slight surprise because it’s just a boring old matte brown why would it be issue around the eye area? None the less these shades may contain ingredients not approved for use around the eye area by the FDA. That being said, if you’re willing to take the chance just keep in mind that there is staining involved with some of these shades. Both Bananas, Cannes, and even Seychelles (which is find for use around the eye area) all had a staining effect on my lids (I swatched on my arm and even on my arm they stained! You’ll see a photo below of what I mean). It was visible for about two days after I applied my eye look. It took about three to four washes before it started to fade. This applies of course, to the US only as the palette isn’t deemed unsafe in Canada.

Stila After Hours and Happy Hour Shadow Palette are new 12-pan eyeshadow palettes that launched for Spring 2019 which arrived yesterday on Stila’s website. These are probably the biggest palettes I’ve seen from Stila. They’ve done 9-pans but 12? I don’t think I’ve seen that yet!

There are two palettes available one of which is a cooler, light jewel-toned palette and the other is a warmer, earthy palette. Each palette is $52 and holds 0.80 oz of total eyeshadow. So, the shades are about 0.06 oz each give or take an ounce. Stila’s standard shades are 0.09 oz for reference in size. These are limited edition.
