Get ready! Sol de Janeiro’s new Summer 2024 Perfume Mist Collection is about to drop on May 11th! We’re getting three, limited-edition scents this year that are called Summer e Amor, Beijos del Sol, and Carioca Crush. We already knew about Carioca Crush as it was leaked on a few social media platforms and I speculated that it might be the only new scent we’re getting for Summer with two additional re-promoted fragrances but I was completely wrong as we are in fact getting three brand new scents and they’re already up on sephora.com and will be available very shortly.

The new perfume mists will be available for a limited time and are $24 each and only launching in the 3.04 oz size. The first one is the Sol de Janeiro Summer é Amor Perfume Mist that’s described as a warm floral with notes of Orange Flower, Creamy Almond, and Sunkissed Woods.

“This unique fragrance opens with tangerine and almond then evolves into a signature heart of rich white florals. Undeniably enveloping, it’s grounded with amber, vanilla, and brown sugar.” -Jerome Epinette.

Next up we have the Sol de Janeiro Carioca Crush Perfume Mist which is a fresh floral that includes notes of Juicy Pear, Pink Violet, and White Cedarwood.

“I wanted to capture rhythm and movement in this fragrance. It opens with plump, juicy fruit for energy and vibrance. Gourmand notes are paired with musk to evoke the closeness and sensuality of a second skin.” -Jerome Epinette.

And last we have Sol de Janeiro Beijos del Sol Perfume Mist which is a fresh solar scent that contains notes of Peach Skin, Coconut Milk, and Frangipani Petals!

“I aimed to capture the feeling of sunkissed skin and effortless happiness. The Brazilian spirit is at the heart of this fragrance and evokes never-ending beach days.” -Clement Gavarry.

They all sound quite beautiful but I do wish they’d make a new gourmand. It feels like ages since they launched ’71 and for me that was sort of the last true gourmand they did outside of the original ’62! I can’t wait to smell these though!

Sorry Mona, Sorry Huda, I’m going with that Kayali Candy Rock Sugar travel-size mist today! Kayali Candy Rock Sugar arrived today in all sizes which is a relief because I refuse to purchase a big bottle of this on a blindbuy! I notice sometimes newer fragrances launch without a smaller size lately and it can be frustrating when doing a purchase online and you really just want to try before you commit to that bigger bottle.

I’m actually surprised it isn’t already sold out as these Kayali get some serious hype lately. Yes, I love the notes of Candied Pear, Rock Sugar, Vanilla Cream, and Bubblegum but they snuck in a little patchouli in the end notes which can easily overtake those sweet, delicious candy notes. I think some fragrance brands are still a little frightened of too sweet scents. There is a market out there for them but brands shy away from bubble gum and candy because they feel like a lot of people don’t want to smell super sweet. They’d be right because a lot of people think of notes like that as being for a tween or early teenager. I personally love anything sweet smelling however, I do realize I’m not in the minority of what people like in fragrances. More people like me are out there just not enough for brands to take a chance on a too sweet scent.

If I’ve learned anything at all about recent Kayali Fragrance launches it’s that they’ve become super hyped up by fragrance influencers across social media and I totally buy into that frenzy but I’ve learned my lesson fairly fast with the launch of Eden Sparkling Lychee and Yum Pistachio Gelato 33! So, splurging $29 on a travel-spray is a lot better than being disappointed in a $100 to $138 full-size bottle!

If you’re blind buying Kayali Candy Rock Sugar today I’d totally recommend the travel spray versus the big bottle! Hopefully, we love it enough to warrant that big bottle purchase!
