Well, Dollar Tree missed their Holiday quarter estimates and seems to be in a spot of trouble as they prepare to close 1,000 of their 16,774 stores. Shares of the company fell nearly 14% after projected 2024 sales and profit fell below expectations. Dollar Tree will be reviewing their underperforming stores and those will be selected for closure. CEO Rick Dreiling claims their biggest problem iss getting enough merchandise into the stores fast enough for consumers. Apparently, Temu and Amazon are causing issues with in store sales as well.

I dunno about you but I rarely visit Dollar Tree. I tend to go there for the movie snacks (and I don’t even do that anymore) and that’s it because my stores (we have several) are a bit chaotic mess. I’m talking stuff all over the floor, opened candy and chips on the shelves, and just general messiness. I also never really find all these cool things that other people seem to score and share across social media. Our stores are filled with a bunch of cheapy, cheesy stuff.

I think they lost a lot of people when they raised the pries to $1.25. It wasn’t a huge increase but people really rebelled at that extra 25 cents being tacked on.

I used to be a die hard Benefit Lemonaid user and I stocked up it before it was discontinued a few years ago! Sadly, Benefit never brought it back nor have they done anything similar to it so when I ran out of my little stash I had to find a replacement.

Benefit Lemonaid was a creamy, pale yellow concealer of sorts for your eyelids. It worked great as a prep for shadow but most importantly, it brightened up the entire eye area and made me look awake and fresh. I found a replacement of sorts in MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot. It’s a yellow beige and not the same shade as Lemonaid but surprisingly, I’ve learned over the years it’s a way better match for my skin tone and has a brightening effect as well as looking natural on my eyelids. No matter what sort of look I’m going for or even if I’m not wearing eyeshadow at all my makeup starts with Soft Ochre. It’s absolutely a must have in my opinion! It’ll be on sale tomorrow, March 13th at ulta.com for $13 along with all the rest of the MAC Paint Pot shades. And yes, I’ll be stocking up 🙂

Takis fans rejoice (and Maybelline ones)! There’s a brand new Maybelline Lifter Plump x Takis Collaboration that are available now at amazon.com! This new Takis x Maybelline Lifter Plump Lipgloss Collection will feature eight new shades (three shades are available now at Amazon) formulated with chili pepper (no word whether the shades will actually taste like Takis! I doubt it but a girl can hope!). Sadly, there isn’t any special packaging to go along but for $14 you get a full-size Lifter Plump Lipgloss along with a 17 oz bag of Takis! The three shade sets available come with either Blue Heat or Fuego Takis and the Lift Plumper Lipgloss shades are repromoted and part of the origninal line up of shades! Not sure when or if more new shades are coming and if they are going to be sold individually or not. Either way, I’m excited to see the new shades as I love this formula. I just wish they’d stop promoting it using people will fillers because it seriously, does plump lips and gives them a nice fuller look why they feel the need to market it using influencers that lip fillers is beyond me as the product does really work!

Pinched Cheeks and Cocoa Bronze are two new shades of Jones Road Miracle Balm that are now available for Spring 2024. I’m so excited to see them extending the Mirale Balm shade range as I love this formula! Miami Beach is the perfect golden coral on my cheeks and I use it way more often than I ever thought I would when I originally purchased it.

These are a solid balm and they are massive! One jar will last you ages! You can use it on your cheeks or lips! I personally like them on my cheeks. It gives this fresh, juicy, lightly dewy color that looks so fresh and natural.

The new shades look quote interesting! I probably can’t pull it off but Cocoa Bronze is really a beautiful shade! This is a deep plummy bronze for medium to deep skin tones. It looks gorgeous on the model! The second shade is Pinched Cheeks which is a medium rosy pink with subtle multidimensional shimmer for fair to dark skin tones!

Jones Road Pinched Cheeks and Cocoa Bronze Miracle Balms are available now on the brand’s website for $38 each! I have to admit I am very tempted by Cocoa Bronze and I may just bite the bullet and try it!
