When I started Musings of a Muse several years ago I really wasn’t a fan of drugstore makeup. Actually I was a snob about it! I just was never really happy with the quality of products and felt like my money was best left to higher end and mid-range brands.
In some ways, I still feel like a high end fan girl but drugstore makeup has evolved so very much in recent years. I think the packaging still has a way to go if I’m honest but the quality, pigmentation, and just the overall selection is quite good compared to several years ago!
The fun thing about going to drugstore is you can AFFORD to grab six different lipsticks without feeling guilty. Try that at a Guerlain counter! We love the steals, deals, and beauty on a budget atmosphere at our drugstores but…are things getting a little too high?
Sometimes you have question drugstores makeup at premium prices. If I’m going to go to CVS and spending $9.99 to $11.99 on mascara well, I might as well just go to MAC for that or even Sephora right?

I only tried one of these so far but didn’t really love the shade…..so I may need to grab up a few more to test further.
Update: I revised my review because the shade I originally tried really didn’t give me a feel for the product so I purchased a new shade CVS recently and decided to update my thoughts!
Here’s some of my thoughts!
When you’re feeling tense and a bit tired you have to sit back, close your eyes, inhale a deep breath, and let it all out slowly in one long exhale.
I get those moments at work where I feel like the sky is falling down around me. Actually I get more of those moments on Musings of a Muse haha…server problems, issues within dashboard, cropping, uploading, answering comments…PHEW! It can get a little too much sometimes. It’s worst than my actual job! When I’m a feel a little overwhelmed I just push my chair back from my desk, close my eyes, take a deep breath in, and slowly let it out as I count to ten.
I swear the on the beauty gods after that I just feel so much better. Sometimes you need a second to realign your universe by closing your others and simply taking a moment to breath!
