Ok, ok, it’s been fully established I am immature which may be why I’m so drawn to these new Bath & Body Works fragrances popping up! Who snagged Cherry Limeade and Strawberry Soda? I need to know all the intel you have on these fragrances so I can see if I need to go off my ban and shop them.

I picture them smelling like Teen Spirit or at the least the hallways of my strict Catholic Middle School. Everyone seemed to smell all fruity and sweet in middle school. WTH did we use back in the day? I’m pretty sure it was Calgon Hawaiian Ginger. I seen that smile. You remember those days don’t you?

In all seriousness, middle school was soooooo strict. We had thee worst Principal ever. She was so crazy strict and everything was pretty much off limits! I remember this one time she subbed a Latin class I was in and she was giving this big lecture about how we should all be respectable (nothing at ALL TO DO with Latin) and she literally made me so nervous I started clicking my pen. And she freaked out at me over it. Not only embarrassing but I was on the verge of tears after. She loved chewing us out about everything. Our uniforms, how we did our hair, etc…it was a strict no makeup policy but we went wild with weird body mists! It was something she thankfully never commented on!

Oddly, I moved on to an all girl’s Catholic high school which was pretty much run by nuns in there 60s and 70s and they were way more laid back than my middle school Principal. They were chill about everything including when we rolled the waist bands of our skirts up to make them shorter. I swear Catholic school is part of the reason I live my life the way I do right now. I just needed to rebel after that ha…!

Anyway, my guilty pleasure is a diet Sonic Cherry Limeade with extra pumps of cherry and lime! Delicious! That being said I always approach Bath & Body Works’ gourmands with a little caution as they typically don’t smell anything like the name. Cherry Lideade is a mix of cherries, lime, and sparkling soda which has me willing to face the aggressive sales reps to smell this!

Strawberry Soda is a mix fresh strawberries and bubbly seltzer. I have a little bit of doubt with this one as with most Bath & Body Works strawberry scents it won’t like strawberries at all!

Needless to say, I think I need these two.

Please don’t judge me for wanting to smell like I’m 13.

Just a quick heads up don’t forget that Tarte Mini SEA Hydroflex Serum Foundation is available in a mini! The mini is 0.33 oz in size which is quite generous however, the shade range is quite limited but if you’re not wanting to take the plunge on a larger version this is a nice pick up!

I’m liking this formula so far! Very lightweight, brightening coverage, and feels lightly hydrating!

Good Morning!

Wakey wakey my friends! I hope you’re having a great week. The weather cooled ever so slightly in Gotham and it’s not nearly as hot as it was last week. I hope you’re living your most comfortable life ever over there and it’s not too hot in your corner of the world.

I have no makeup on today!

GASP!

I went out of the house without a stitch of makeup on today which is incredibly unlike me. I’ve used makeup as a mask for so long it feels weird going out without it. I mean, I have my sunscreen on but that’s about the extent of the effort I put into my look today. I’m not seeing clients today so that might account for why I’m feeling so damn brave over here.

Last week, I forgot who, someone said to me, “….those comments when people say “Are you sick?” when you aren’t wearing makeup!” I’ve actually only ever gotten that particular one once but I was actually sick at the time haha! But I get the “Wow you look young!” one when people see me without it! Makeup def makes me look a lot older and I take comfort in that because I feel like it makes people take me a lot more serious than when they see me with less of it on or god forbid I scare their children without any on at all.

I actually don’t know how to take either one. They seem like sort of backhanded comments. Especially the “Are you sick?” ones…jeepers creepers! What in the world? Why would you say someone is sick if they aren’t wearing makeup!?!?! And the “You look younger today!” What does that mean? That I look old with makeup on? I’m so confused how to feel here!

Am I overthinking these weird comments?

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2021 Preview starts July 7th! Cardholders get an early sneak peek at this year’s sale offerings! As you well know the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale happens every July but last year it was postponed and happened in August last year due to the pandemic.

The sale’s official start date is July 28th for everyone and ends August 8th. Card members get early access prior to July 28th and items do sell out fast so it is a good idea to start plotting and planning what you want when the preview does drop.

The sale hasn’t been the same in many years. Many of the cool exclusive items, pre-Fall launches, and special sets and kits just aren’t around anymore. And the sale has actually become a sale….! You’ll find a lot of items available at 20 to 40% off. It’s a good time to grab a Simple Human Mirror as typically Nordy’s reduces the price on them anywhere from 20 to 30% off retail. For those interested in something other than beauty there’s plenty of great deals on luxury accessories and clothing as well!

I’d say the sale has been depressing for several years now. I mean, I always score a deal which is great! I’m purchased some fantastic shoes, purses, and clothing but the beauty and makeup aspect is a little boring and uneventful. Nordy’s used to get first dibs on a lot of Fall items! Even the MAC Collection which is exclusive to Nordstrom is a snooze-fest. They typically don’t do a color story anymore but merely release sets featuring a few items. I miss the color stories.

I think we might see some good deals on Becca when the the sale finally arrives…! They really are hanging on to Becca until the end of time over here. I wonder when the sale will finally hit. I’m thinking Nordstrom Anniversary might prove a turning point.
