Make Up For Ever Lift Concealer Review

To start off my review of concealers I thought I’d go with Make Up For Ever Lift Concealer since I use it often!

ALOT of hype surrounds Make Up For Ever’s Lift Concealer.

I couldn’t count the numerous reviews raving about this particular concealer that I’ve read all over the internet. I’m hear to say it lives up to most of the hype and does a damn fine job of concealing all your under eye woes.

The concealer comes in five shades and although that’s not a big selection I think it’s safe to say you’ll find a match for your tone in the five available options. I use Pink Beige 1 which is the lightest shade available. One thing I don’t particularly like about the color is the fact that it’s a very fleshy shade with a tiny bit of unflattering beige to it, thankfully the color works well on my skin tone.

Now the formula is pimped out as having skin-firming benefits however I haven’t experienced that. It also contains vitamins A and E which regenerate the skin but again I really haven’t noticed much of a difference in my eye area since using it other than the fact that it does a wonderful job of making me appear awake and fresh!

It virtually conceals all problem areas under my eyes. Dark circles, fine lines, and extra baggage literally disappear creating a flawless, wonderful finish for my makeup. The formula is extremely moisturizing however I don’t like how watery the product is and I’d have prefer a bit of a denser product. This blends easily and beautifully and as I said the color goes perfectly wonderful with my skin tone.

I’ve read many raves about how long the concealer holds out but I felt that I needed touching up after at least 3-4 hours or so. I’d have loved for it to last longer in all honesty but I guess we can’t expect miracles from a concealer but I did somewhat expect more from Make Up For Ever as a majority of their products are unstoppable, smudge-proof, waterproof, last all day items but I didn’t find that the case with the lift concealer.

Props to the great packaging that keeps your hands and fingertips away from the majority of the product. I actually don’t bother touching the tube at all. I simply dot some on with the long tipped applicator and blend with my fingers! This makes bacteria and germ obsessions a little bit less of a problem for the Muse.

The concealer is $21 USD and for some that may be a bit of a high cost but personally I think the quality is brilliant and since the product is so pigmented a very little goes a long way which means you’ll be working on a tube for about 6 months to a year without having to replenish your supply.

I experienced no problem with the concealer creasing or becoming cakey. I also never noticed the product creeping into my fine lines which is a total plus for me as I always feel that as soon as concealer begins to crease into the fine lines it makes me appear older! The formula pretty much blends in perfectly well and does a very good job of actually concealing fine lines without settling into them.

Although it’s not pure perfection the good outweighs the bad with Make Up For Ever Lift Concealer and I find I reach for it daily to make myself appear fresh, awake, and gorgeous.

I like it and I definately approve it for purchase! It’s definately part of my daily beauty ritual and does what it promises!

Not holy grail material but definately good stuff!

The Muse likes it! Alot.

Hey Muse, I’m def lemming this. It seems that most people have nothing but raves for them!

Btw Izzy, could any of your dear SG readers kindly tell me where I can get MUFE in SG? I heard in a forum that MUFE is available here but I don’t seem to come across any shops or counters of this.

    Many thanks! 🙂

    gracie 🙂

Hi there! Very new to your blog – it’s fabulous! You’re very detailed, which I love.
Just reading about the BB creams, which I’ve never heard of until now. I’ve already been on ebay looking for them, but I don’t know which shade to try. I’m fair/light skinned, neutral tone, freckles and brunette. I can’t wait for your review! Thank you!!

  • Askmewhats

Thanks for your review! I would definitely be reading reviews before buying more expensive make up like makeup forever! Everyone knows how great their e/s are! But glad to read something about their concealer! big help musey! *hugs*

I love this product! If you wish, you could look at my review. (shameless promotion!) I have pictures of before and after there. 🙂

I also think 5 colours is quite enough. just don’t like its numbering system!

  • the Muse

    hi ping!

😉 It’s def worth a shot. Good creamy consistency and coverage too!

  • the Muse

    hiya gracie!

It’s really hyped up and has some huge ravings with it!

MUFE is available in SG but I’ve no idea where. maybe tangs? they even have a singapore portal for the website. Ask Iris I bet she’ll know 😉

  • the Muse

    hi andi!

Thank you so very much!!!!!! 🙂

Happy to hear the BB Creams caught your interest 🙂

If you’re light skinned you might want to go with the lightest shade if they are offering two color selections if not go with whatever is offered since BB adjust to skin tones 🙂

Or..wait for my round up review hehe 🙂 and you can see what would work best for you!

You’re most most welcome! It’s my pleasure!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment! Love hearing from my readers!

Hope to talk to you again soon!

    hi Kim!

Sorry, seemed pointless to post a concealer pic wasn’t sure if you’d see much of a difference.

Hopefully the review helped a bit!

  • the Muse

    hi jojoba!

Yes! Send a link!? 🙂 I heart your blog BIG time!

The color selection isn’t vast but very suitable to all skin tones I thought. The numbering system is retarded. I agree 😛

I felt like the colors are kinda off when swatches but with it on they work a treat!

Off to your blog to see if I can find the review!

    Thanks!

  • Rocketqueen

    Hi there,

I hope you are well! I am loving your concealer review series. I always keep an open mind about concealer. I may have to give this one a try…

After reading your review about the BE Rocker Eye kit, I decided to splurge on it myself. I absolutely love it and wouldn’t have considered it without your review.

The Givenchy fall collection should be in Sephora stores tomorrow. Are you considering anything from that collection?

I can’t believe it’s August already…the big Neimans event will be next month and then in October, the Japanese holiday coffrets. Eek!

    Cheers!

  • the Muse

ok! off to check now linn 🙂

Tell me about it. I feel so into Fall already that Summer is long forgotten 🙁 I still haven’t reviewed most of the Summer stuff I have around! It’s ridiculous 🙁

    Hi Muse, it Anonymous! 🙂
Yes, I think that Makeup Forever’s Full Coverage Concealer should be okay on the under eyes. I definitely going to try it… When I do, I’ll be sure to let you know how it turns out. I’m 25, but already I have horrid dark circles. Actually, I have since about the 8th grade. I’m constantly searching for the perfect concealer. I’ve tried Dior, Benefit, Smashbox, Clinique, Lorac, a number of drugstore brands, and probably more than I can remember off the top of my head. 🙂 But, I thought that this Makeup Forever stuff sounded promising. Let’s hope so!

  • the Muse

    hello there again miss anonymous

I’m on the case 🙂 I definately want to try i now 😉
I look forward to hearing your word about it.

Aw I’m so sorry to hear this. As the years have gone by mine have gotten worst however they aren’t too bad mostly I try to conceal baggage as I am getting older 🙁

    Well Hello Muse! 🙂
Okay, so I’m excited that we’re both going to try the Make Up Forever Full Coverage Concealer. As soon as I try it, I’m going to let you know how it went. Might be a little while though.
I’ve never tried Fresh. But, I’m eager to read your review. Thanks for reviewing all of these concealers. You’re doing a great job and helping me a lot!
