Sneak Peek: MAC Riveting Photos and Review
I was born in the ahem…err…the 70’s. So technically my age of music fell into the 90’s as these were my teen/tween years but like most things in my life, my taste in music was and still is as unconventional as all hell. My sister was an 80’s child and from her I learned to appreciate some great one hit wonders from the early and late 80’s, this was music at it’s best. I was probably six when I developed my first crush on Robert Smith and it’s carried through many a year, thank you 1980’s.
Mind you Robert circa 1980’s was fantastic but not so much when you jump forward over 20 years….it’s ok though, I’ll take him anyway I can get him.
The new MAC Riveting Collection hits the shelf in a few weeks and brings about that retro 80’s glam feel for me with a bit of rock n’ roll thrown in for good measure.
Not everyone can pull off MAC Riveting but I imagine half of us are going to have a bloody great time trying.

I’m unable to pull off most of what MAC Riveting offers but some of it is interesting to say the least. I got an early look at the collection and think it might appeal to those who aren’t scared of louder shades of impacting color.
Blushes in Dirty Plum and Full Fuchsia are both interesting shades of color. Dirty Plum is a deep purple plum where as Full Fuchsia is a popping neon shade of full on fuchsia. With a light hand and plenty of blending you can easily work with these. Darker skin chicklets can take full advantage of such bright shades.
MAC Lipglass in Rock Out is a light silver which not everyone is going to be able to pull off. Gunmetal gray lip gloss was never really my thing. Complete opposite shade, True Babe, is a pop of very bright neon fuchsia. Workable for anyone that likes louder shades of gloss.
MAC Lipstick in Riveting, taking it’s namesake from the collection, is a dirty taupe which will appeal to anyone who likes a nude a lip. Bit frosty looking to me but it is a glaze finish. Screams mod 60’s but wriggles it’s way into the 80’s with a slash of Dirty Plum Blush on cheeks.
And finally three new nail lacquers in Studded (silver with pearl), Wham, Bam, Glam (dark taupe), and Black Enough? (matte black). Absolutely love the idea of a french with Black Enough and Studded….is that weird? I think it would look hot.
Riveting isn’t my favorite collection by any means as I can’t pull off most of it’s offerings but it’s interesting to say the least.
