Benefit Cha Cha Tint Review & Swatches

Benefit Cha Cha Tint is a brand new mango-tinted lip and cheek stain that will be available from Benefit Cosmetics starting June 2011. I was honestly expecting some new powder blush from Benefit but since Bella Bamba just released it seemed unlikely…and surprise! A new liquid cheek stain that’s sure to become a holy grail product for Summer as it imparts a juicy shade of peachy orange on cheeks that’s too flirty not to love!

Check it!

A mango tinted lip and cheek stain from Benefit Cosmetics for Summer 2011

Dare I say this is the best Benefit Tint I’ve tried? I really shouldn’t say that right? As I tend to say it about every single stain they come out with but I really am loving Benefit Cha Cha Tint at the moment and since I’m obsessed with all things orange and peach for Spring and Summer this fits right into my heart.

This is a milky liquid stain in the same league as Posietint but in a delightful shade of mango! The formula mimics Posietint to a tee and in my opinion blends alot easier than Benetint. Swipe across your cheeks, blend outward, and presto! You’re left with an orange-y peach tint on cheeks (and lips if you so please).

The shade has a whole lot of everything going on and the finish will vary from tone to tone. On me it comes across as a brighter peach, quite a cool shade on my cheeks and quite flirty and fun! I tried it on several friends and my sister and the shade came across different on each person I tried it on. My sister for example is quite olive and on her it was a warmer shade of mango. On my friend Keisha, a perfect shade of mocha, we got a more brilliant coral on her face. It seems to work for most skin types as the formula is considerably more pigmented than Benetint and Posietint.

If you’re looking for a long wearing tint for the Summer months that imparts a peachy glow, Benefit Cha Cha is your girl!

It didn’t show up so well on my lips and worked best on my cheeks.

  • Anyone embracing the peachy, orange, coral trend for Summer.
  • Those wanting a long wearing, lightweight blush for cheeks that will last through the warm weather and a day at the pool!
  • Those who embrace simple make (a quick swipe and blend will light up your entire face).

  • Everyone will love this one!

Benefit Cha Cha Tint will prove a delightful little stain for Summer and it’ll probably be one I reach for daily in the warm months ahead since it’s so lightweight and virtually waterproof. The shade thrills me as I really think a good peach shade of blush does something wonderful for my cheeks. The appeal of Cha Cha is the fact that it will work for many skin tones due to it’s pigmentation. Posietint was a real love for me but I can easily see Cha Cha replacing it for the Summer.

Loves this one!

Hey Muse! I know this is kind of a silly question, but what’s the best way to apply a liquid tint like this? Over liquid foundation? Over powder? After liquid but before powder? Sometimes I just wear a light dusting of powder without any foundation, and other days when I do use foundation I usually set it with powder. Where does the tint fit in? This mango shade looks so great on your skin and I’d love to pull off a similar look. 🙂 Thanks girl!!

    • the Muse

base products first hapa and than your blush, Hope this helps 🙂 I used this on bare skin but and light concealer under my eyes but normally apply my foundation and powder if I’m wearing it and follow up with the tint. 🙂

  • Mary the muse Militant

It looks a strong tangerine on the brush but a lot cooler on your cheeks.
I’ve got Benetint and Posietint so will be checking this out as soon as it’s released.

    • the Muse

depends on your tone. I was trying it out on everyone I know and it was different on everyone Mary ;-D

  • libby

btw, it looks so sweet on you 🙂

    • the Muse

brilliant libby ;-D nice haul as that’s a really cute kit ;-D aw thanks you’re too kind!

  • jonnie

Eeeek, I love it! 😀 I will definitely be giving this a try… I only ever use stains like this in the summer anyway, since they seem to smear my winter foundation and look kind of weird…

  • Mandy

I got the trio of Benetint, Posietint, and Highbeam sampler pack at Sephora, and I’ve fallen in love with the tints. I will def have to check this out!

  • Carrie

Ooh, I need to get this! I don’t think I can wait until june, though! Maybe Benefit will do an early online release like they did with Bella Bamba? I think I purchased that on online with free shipping before it was available in stores.

    • the Muse

carrie in may they are launching on HSN ;-D as a special preview 🙂

  • Rona

I know you said that you’d just use it for cheeks but in the photo it looks great on your lips too. I love tints, can’t wait to get this one!

    • the Muse

aw thanks rona ;-D I liked on cheeks best but the lips isn’t too bad!

  • Nayah

I’m absolutely digging the peachy coral trend going on this summer. Time to set aside $29 in an envelope labeled “for Benefit’s Cha Cha Tint ONLY!” I seriously can’t wait! The color’s gorgeous.

    • the Muse

nayah well worth the haul and a perfect summer treat for cheeks!

  • Nora

Wuh! First time I’ve heard of this new color (thanks, Muse!) and it looks gorgeous enough to try. I tried benetint for lips a year or two ago and was terribly disappointed in it. But maybe for cheeks…::crosses fingers::

    • the Muse

benetint is def an acquired taste nora ;-D I think you’ll like this one ;-D very fresh and fun!

  • Kim

    Such a gorgeous colour!
Doesn’t it remind you of Etude’s Cherry Tint in no.3 though?

  • jamie

errrr benefit is bringing my bank balance into the reds with all the new releases of skincare and makeup!! i can’t resist… the color’s wayyy too pretty!!! i love how it looks on you!! 🙂

  • Melissa

I actually love the original on and off and have for years. Posie is okie dokie, but I think chacha needs to be in my cabinet now -please and thank you 😛

  • Leah

Like you need to ask… definite YES for me when we get this over here!

ps Musey did you get Soap & Glory over there yet? They have a new body scrub called The Breakfast Scrub that smells of maple syrup, think you’d love it! 😀

    • the Muse

sadly not leah they said fall 2011 for a new retailer I eagerly await its return ;-D I have tried the Breakfast Scrub though and it’s gorg ;-D!!!!!!!!

      • Leah

Aw glad you’ve tried it, I feel guilty whenever I go into Boots and see the S&G lovliness! Glad its coming your way again in fall 😀

        • the Muse

ha leah you’re too kind *hugs* and you should feel guilty. VERY VERY guilty ;-D lol! ;-D My best friend lives in London so she sends care packages, le sigh so sad Targets doesn’t carry S&G anymore jeepers waiting till fall is ages away :D!

  • Kay

I’m only just getting into Benefit, bought my first set to try some things out the other week and I’m already loving this! But is it as sheer as Posietint? I’m a pale gal, can’t be doing with bright orange cheeks!

      • Kay

Hmmm…but so pretty. Have to test it when it comes out, hope it works for me because it’s gorgeous!

  • ribbonroses

Sounds funky, but I’m worried it’d go flourescent tangerine on my ivory skin……. I can’t make posie tint work for me however I try….. but I’ll have to give it a go when us brits eventually get it anyway…..

    • the Muse

I’m kinda thinking this and a little powder on top might deem the orange roses ;-D

      • ribbonroses

*excitement* my benefit lady says they should have cha cha tint when I go and see her in June. Also am liking It’s Potent, it’s very similar to eyecon, maybe shows results faster……. Aaaand I had a lesson in Posie Tint and can make it play nice now, so I got one of those too. Happy days 🙂 xx

        • the Muse

yay roses ;-D fab news ;-D! also cha cha is available may from HSN if you can’t wait :D!

          • ribbonroses

I have it now! I’m SO in love with this stuff, it looks amazing. That is all!!!! 😀 😀

  • Emily

Im not normally big on Benefit, but this looks so nice!!
Random question Muse, but do you always wear your hair up? Xx

    • the Muse

def Emily, nice stain. Nope just for work. My hair is very long and I don’t like it in my face when I’m working so I tack it up.

  • katrosado

Sold. I’m with you on the peach/coral trend this summer! Loving it: 🙂

  • Girl Hearts Makeup

yay! excited about this! I think this is the best color among all the tints!

  • Majick

Can you believe I have never tried Benetint? I think it’s always been a little too pink/cool for me so I wasn’t really interested. Now I had to go and see this? YIKES! I ordered the Today’s Special on HSN through Allure Rewards so I got the shipping down to .60 – at least it was something. They wouldn’t let me use the coupon for $5 off on a Today’s Special (bummer). I’m always searching for a better deal.
Have you tried the Bad Gal Lash? I have to say that all the products in this kit will be new to me.

    • the Muse

majick you’re in for a treat with cha cha, it’s gorg! lucky girl 60 cents?! Suave shopper! Bad Gal lash is ok but not my fav mascara…cha cha alone is worth the deal ;-D!

  • Majick

I’ll report back my review when I receive it. I like when I actually remember to go through allurerewards.com because then once a quarter they send me a check with all my savings. I think HSN was 5% savings back.
I did my beauty.com order with the 20% FF through them too so I got a little more back there too. I had to order some beauty blender cleanser and decided to grab 2 new sponges while I was at it. Those things are crazy expensive but worth every penny.
If I don’t chat with you – have a great weekend. I’m getting ready to leave the office now.

    • the Muse

majic looking forward to your thoughts hun! glad you saved some $$ on the order ;-D!!!!! I’m TRYING so hard to understand and love the beauty blender ;-D Have a super weekend hun sorry delayed reply here :-/

      • Majick

ok – I’m liking the kit but I don’t think I would repurchase anything. Cha Cha is really pretty – stays on fairly well but not on the lips. (I think Smashbox lipstain is better for this).
the brow pencil is actually pretty nice (but I have enough brow stuff to get me into my 80s LOL – I may need gray by then. NOT!
High beam is a nice highlighter but I have others that I like just a bit more (LORAC, Laura Geller).
Bad Gal Lash – huh? now this I don’t get, it’s a little dry and takes forever to build up any volume at all. I would say this is one lame mascara.
So my bottom line is I will use everything but my fav two pieces in this kit are the brow pencil and Cha Cha.

        • the Muse

Aw sorry Majick ;-D I think the star here was cha cha ;-D

          • Majick

agreed, the star is cha cha and don’t be sorry I do like it but I like a LOT. ha ha

  • Brooke

woe..dat’s just ur bare skin up there? that luks way nice..ur skin is fab :] how do u think this color wud luk on really fair skin?

    • the Muse

hi brooke yup and thanks! it should look very pretty on fair skin sans redness ;D!

  • kimryan8

Just ordered it today from Benefit.com
CAN’T WAIT! I am new to stanins and will give it a go. I have a nice tan starting so I am looking forward to the peachy mango hue!

      • Kimryan8

I LOVE it! I have icky oily skin and it looks great and doesn’t come off like blush. PERFECT for summer! It took me a few applications to get it right because I am new to stains but its super cool! Glad I got it. Paired with BadGal Blue mascara – goes great with a tan!

  • Mina

I worship Benefit’s Coralista, but in summer the colour tends to disappear a bit. Maybe Cha cha can do better. How do you think Cha cha compares to Coralista?

  • Kimryan8

Cha cha is a little more coral-y than Coralista. Coralista also has some shimmer to it, Cha Cha does not. Its a super great stain for summer.

I also find that with my oily skin, Coralista can shift and fade in a few hours. Cha cha does not!

  • Zoorkitty

Help me muse. I love love love cha cha tint. It’s shows up to a beautiful natural peach on my nc43/42 skin tone and with a balm on my dark pigmented lips. But I just can’t seem to blend to the natural flush I want. I work like a ninja honestly. I dab it on my finger and then use finger to dab (cat whiskers and dots left light lines, dots on my face) I am a moisturiser, bb cream girl – no foundation. Have you got a some clues ?

    • the Muse

hi zoor…hmmm….have you tried a single dot directly onto your cheek and blended out?

      • Zoorkitty

Single dot, no haven’t, will try it. Thank you. By the way you are one of my fav beauty bloggers. Keep up the great work.xoxo

        • the Muse

hope it works zoor…just go single dot first and you can always build up from there! 😀 AW thank YOU! very flattered!
