Sleek MakeUp Ultra Matte i-Divine Palettes

Return of the Mack (WTF was that song even about yo?)…I mean return of the matte!

Sleek Makeup Ultra Matte i-Divine Palette launch in two new shade selections for Summer.

Matte fans brace yourself.

Sleek is legendary for their i-Divine Palettes so it’s exciting news for matte lovers that they’ll be introducing two new Ultra Matte i-Divine Palettes packed with 12 shades of high quality, super pigmented matte shadows.

Sleek MakeUp Ultra Matte i-Divine Palettes Shades:

  • V1 Brights
  • V2 Darks

Palettes are 6.49 ($10) and will launch May 9th 2012 at Superdrug stores and online at sleekmakeup.com

This is unconfirmed information but………………….

As I mentioned in my prior post I was working with Sleek for some sort shipping deal. Good news, they are actually revamping the site in June and will be offering new, cheaper shipping options! So just a month or so away and we’ll be able to take advantage of a few different options for shipping to the US some as low as $5 from my understanding…!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Oh, I’m loving the brights! & they don’t have the criss-cross design on their shadows like their current ones now! I want to order these, but with one item missing from my last order & then having not responded in 3 weeks makes me kind of not want to. Oh well 🙁

  • Essy

Oh, this makes me SO HAPPY! I was just longing for a new Sleek palette, I have all the current ones and a few LEs, so I will definitely be keeping an eye out for the new ones as well as the cheaper shipping. You just made my day, Muse!!

    • the Muse

yay essy! happy to hear. I tried for the free shipping but they said june the site revamps and they’ll be updating shipping options etc…and offer tracking as well!

DROOL for the darks! I have really wrinkly eyelids, so matte eyeshadows are my friends, so I am really excited to see a whole palette of lovely and inexpensive colors for it. That matte teal looks really interesting. I look terrible in that color, but I always want it anyway. Makeup isn’t really about rational living, though, is it? Nice looking aubergine-type colors, too. I see a matte purple smoky eye in my future.

Muse, I know you hate matte formulas like the plague but they are my formula of choice. I am quite a bit older than you so sometimes shimmer just isn’t a good friend to older eyes. Was wondering if you have an opinion on the quality of Sleek mattes….if you have tried them. These two palettes look like they would cover my every color need but would like a trusted opinion on them before ordering. BTW, still giggling at the “dew dew” from the other post. I must also have a 13 year old boy lurking in me somewhere 🙂

deb, I’m so bad for you in regards to recommending mattes ;-D b/c I’m of the mentality OMG THEY ALL SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!! no offense. I imagine in a few years, I’ll appreciate them more ;-D What can say is they are heavily pigmented, like WOW pigmented. The formula is heavier and not as silky as say a Tarte matte eyeshadow and I feel like they apply a bit on the patchy side, but like I said I really am awful at matte application so I feel like every single matte I’ve ever tried has gone on patchy….! I’ll swatch some of the old i-divine palettes in an upcoming post when I can get a chance and maybe you can see how you think of the pics…! I think if you’re looking for richly pigmented for dramatic eye looks with a bit of a heavier formula you’ll like them but if you want soft, silky mattes with sheer color pay off, sleek isn’t your BFF.

LOL! we all do my dear we all do ;-D!

Thanks Muse, that is helpful. My favorite “go to” mattes are LMDB and Rouge Bunny Rouge. Now those folks know how to make a matte eyeshadow…..but they are expensive. Was just looking for a little more reasonably priced alternative but I can do without. I’m not lacking for choices right now. Thanks for reply.

        • the Muse

my pleasure deb! I haven’t tried either sadly so can’t compare to sleek’s version! my fav mattes are from tarte, those are so lovely! soft and silky ;D

          • Deb

If you ever decide to try RBR you will not be disappointed. I have a lot of their stuff and every last bit of it is fantastic. You will DIE over their shimmer eyeshadows. Only one problem: their stuff is so good it gets addictive. Bad for the wallet 🙂

          • the Muse

lol! I have a ton of bad for the wallet habits, more one can’t hurt right?

  • Ruth

wahoo! I’ve wanted to try some of their blushes but the $14 shipping charge for 1 pallett kinda deterred me. I need more makeup like a hole in the eye, but since it’s going to be more affordable…

  • Kate

If the shipping becomes reasonable, I will probably cave. Thank you for the heads up.

I probably SHOULD wear mattes all the time because I’m old, esp. in comparison to so many other bloggers and their readers, but I am in deep denial about that fact, so I hardly ever do.

Case in point about being and oldster: THAT SONG!!! I had forgotten all about it. You’re killing me, Muse. I love it when you include clips with your posts. 🙂 🙂

    • the Muse

kate you are NOT old! don’t you worry, you wear whatever you like! If you love it that’s all that matters. I’m prob too old for sparkle too but who cares ;-D

haha! I think that came out like when I was in the 8th grade or something!??!?!? haaaaaaaaaa! I has ear worm! but I keep singing it as return of the matte lol!

  • Heather

Ive heard of Sleek before and everyone seems to have the same thing to say: its amazing! I dont understand how they can charge $10.00 for a palette of shadows that is high quality, highly pigmented colours that consistently gets good reviews..?Even drugstore brands charge more than that for only a few shadows

  • Jenn

Yay! If they ever do lower the shipping I’d be so excited, as I really want to try the new liners, and these palettes are looking nice too. 😀

  • adriana

5 bucks is not bad at all!! Im definetly cheking some goodies out!!!

    • the Muse

hi monica I THINK they might be here to stay! it wasn’t really specific in the release if they are LE

  • theRothstanator

Wow! I’m not even really into mattes but these look awesome! And that is awesome news about the shipping!

  • moena

EEP I AM SO EXCITED. Need both of those palettes, and I love that you’re working with them for a better shipping deal. *cheers at you*

  • MiMi

yes. thank you. about time. i need more mattes! heck, i might buy two of each.
MiMi’s conscience: MiMi calm down! Pay your rent and *then* buy the makeup…. (under breath:*crazy heifer*)
