MAC Heavenly Creature Mineralize Skinfinish Star Wonder Review & Swatches
I know MAC Heavenly Creature is so yesterday’s news but I’m still muddling through my purchases. I reached for the Mineralize Skinfinish in Star Wonder early last week to give a try but never got around to the actual review.
Wanna take a look today with me?
I have to say the Mineralize Skinfinishes from the MAC Heavenly Creature Collection are possibly some of the best that MAC has done in a while. Most of the shades can easily double up as blush!
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Star Wonder ($29) is a stunning little piece of fancy that should capture your eye. Truly MAC outdid themselves with the designs on these….! The shadows, MSF, and blushes all have vibrant designs that really do evoke a sense of sci-fi.
Star Wonder is made up of swirls of tarnished gold, plum, and dusky peachy pink. I WISH the peachy pink would apply as beautifully as it looks in the pan but sadly the dominate shade on cheeks comes across as a plum pink on my cheeks (could prove differently though for different tones).
All though many MSF fall victim to a frosty finish, this one leans towards a heavy sparkly, shimmer one. I’m not sure which is the lesser of the two evils at times but I can definitely cope with with sparkle, frost not so much. It won’t appeal if you really can’t cope with sparkly/shimmery powders or blushes because it proves difficult to blend that finish out and get the glow you’re looking for. I might be mad but I feel like the texture is a little gritty.
The beautiful part of Star Wonder is the fact it can easily double up as a blush but the high sparkle factor proves an issue when trying to build the color up. I suggest a kabuki to blend out for the best finish. It kicks up a fair bit of powder no matter the brush you use.
The glow factor is here but it’s a matter of getting the application down just right so you don’t over do it. I’m heavy handed so this is challenging for me.
Overall, I’m happy to have purchased it. It’s a gorgeous color. I wish I had a better application technique but it seems hit or miss for me to get it down right. Those with more skill can probably rock it hard however, I definitely lack that skill.
Regardless your skill level, it’s worth a peek and a possible haul. The color is stunning when used correctly.
Loves!
