I’ve been reviewing the Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Fraggle Rock Collection for you recently. This Fraggle inspired collection has a perfume oil inspired by each of the popular characters in the show. If you’re an 80′s baby you remember the classic Henson show for kids that premiered on HBO.

The Fraggles were part of my childhood so I was delighted when the Lab teamed up with Henson Studios to create this collection. Known for their popular perfume oils the Lab has created an entire range of fragrances inspired by those fuzzy, lovable Fraggles.

What would the Fraggles be like without Uncle Traveling Matt? Uncle Matt set out from Fraggle Rock to venture into our world and explore all the offerings amongst the human race while making sure to send a postcard to his beloved nephew, Gobo each week!

What’s Uncle Matt’s fragrance like?

Uncle Traveling Matt is kinda that relative we all have. Goofy yet we someone we look up to because they seem so worldly and wise. Matt’s completely an airhead but Gobo thinks the world of him. It’s rather funny watching his travels through the normal world in each episode as he makes some unusual discoveries and mistakes.

I can’t recall Matt ever coming back to Fraggle Rock as he spent so much time in “outer space”. But at some point I imagine he did, I’ve just blocked it out somewhere….! Anyone remember an episode where he returns home? I picture a parade, memorial service, the whole nine yards.

I thought Matt’s fragrance might somehow smell like the great outdoors but turns out he smells quite yummy. Dark creamy chocolate, figgy vanilla, a touch of fruity notes from pear and quince and a ton of adventure makeup this curious little fragrance. The quince actually gives the fragrance this lovely tart note that dominates the fragrance. I’m not one for chocolate scented fragrances or bath and body products but Matt’s fragrance can easily make you a believer as the chocolate is a very far off back note. This is tart, fruity, and quite delicious with a rich, velvety chocolate back note.

Loves it!

Sniffing it I do get a sense of deja vu but I can’t quite figure out what it is that it smells like.

Either way, don’t be scared of Matt! His fragrance is as adventurous as his soul.
