Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Baked Bronzer Review & Swatches
With Spring break right around the corner Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Baked Bronzer might be a perfect pick for toting with you to enhance that golden tan you’ll be getting while away. Or perhaps just brightening up your pasty hibernation Winter skin!
Let’s take a look!
I was delighted when I came across the Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Baked Bronzer at drugstores as with the introduction of the Sexy Booster Collection I thought perhaps Happy Booster would be put aside. But Physicians Formula indeed released a few new goodies to the collection including this bronzer.
Unlike my recent foray with the Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Illuminating Bronzing Veil I had great success with the bronzer being nicely pigmented and sparkly. You know me and sparkle…as far as I’m concerned sparkle is a MUST if I’m going to wear bronzer at all!
This bronzer is available in two shade selections for lighter and deeper skin tones. It has a golden bronze dominate shade that surrounds a lighter shade of gold in the shape of a heart. Cute right? Happy Booster’s darling little heart imprints definitely make a girl (or guy) happy! It comes in a pink dual compartment compact which features the bronzer on top and a brush and mirror located on the bottom. The brush is really scratchy, sheds like crazy, and unusable in my opinion so def BYOB (bring your own brush).
The bronzer is a baked, bi-colored bronzing powder that combines pearlescent gold and warm golden bronze to give cheeks and face a sunkissed golden glow. I find the texture runs very powdery and kicks up a fair bit of product so stroke gently for the best results. I wouldn’t recommend a kabuki brush for application as things can get messy fast. Try a bushier blush brush as a little goes a long way here due to the pigmented formula. I stroked a tiny bit on my cheek bones and that was PLENTY to achieve the golden glow I wanted. A little coral cheek stain or blush underneath is a perfect accent to the color OR you can add a little pink blush on top of it for a blushing sunkissed finish.
Bronzer (Deeper Shade)
The powder is quite finely milled and has a soft texture so outside of being powdery it isn’t chalky. It blends easily however, it does fade rather fast on my skin and does accentuate drier patches on my face so you’ll want to make sure to prep well prior to use. The amount of shimmer is a tad crazy here so a lighter hand is key during application and all that shimmer may be a death trap for larger pores so again, I’d recommend a very light hand.
The powder has a strong sugary violet scent which supposedly acts as an endorphin of sorts to make you feel “happy”…Umm not buying that one…! I don’t particularly like the scent even though I’m cool with scented makeup, skincare, etc…it’s a little too much so keep that in mind if you’re sensitive.
Overall, Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Baked Bronzer is a delightful little bronzer with a few quirks but a formula that works well to produce a wearable shade of glow-y bronze on face and cheeks! If you’re looking for a nice treat to enhance your tan skin or to battle away the dullness of a pasty complexion this should work fab.
It’s available now at drugstores.
