Physicians Formula Sexy Booster Sexy Glow Blush Review & Swatches
As you know Physicians Formula Sexy Booster Sexy Glow Blush and Sexy Glow Glossy Stains have recently launched in drugstores for Spring 2013.
I think Physicians Formula went out of their way with this collection. The packaging and design are darling. As a makeup lover I admit I put heavy importance on packaging. These darling powder blushes feature a cute little stiletto design.
I just wish the formula was as lovely!
Each of these blushes comes in a square compact wrapped in a red fabric with a sexy fishnet overlay. A black ribbon tie and a silver stiletto charm grace the closure. The square compact features two separate compartments with the blush housed on top and a generously size mirror and well for the brush on the bottom.
I’ve mentioned Physicians Formula having rather crummy brushes that are rough and prone to shedding in past posts. This brush isn’t all that wonderful but there’s some improvement as the bristles are a little softer and I see a lot less shedding from it.
The blush is made of three separate shades. One dominate color and two other smaller shades that make up the high heeled stiletto. The over spray of the heel is a spray of gold which quickly disappears on a single swipe. The actually stiletto shade is a smidge darker than the overall surrounding shade. This shade runs through the powder it appears but the heel begins to disappear after a few uses. I imagine with many uses it’ll disappear completely.
The texture of the blush is powdery with a fair bit of kick up when a brush is swiped through it. I feel like the texture is both powdery and chalky all in one. It doesn’t contain shimmer but for some reason it appears both shimmery and terribly frosty on my cheeks. Although it blends easily enough onto my face it applies very sheer and doesn’t build very well no matter how much I apply. Which leads me to recommend NOT building too much as a single swipe accentuates flaky areas on my face (and will likely make pores look larger) so you can imagine how unnatural and less than smooth it looks when built. The coverage is uneven, very flaky looking, and just less than smooth on my drier skin. The frosty finish gives a very nice glow and if you work well with such a finish you might enjoy that “glow-y” finish. Personally I feel like it makes me look terribly disco-ball-like.
I’m going to retry these in the Summer when my skin is smoother and I’m suffering a lot less from drier skin. I still think the frost and sheerness will be disappointing even then though. If you have smooth, even skin you might feel the glow is very nice. I just personally didn’t love it. Wear time seems to fluctuate for me. One day it lasts about three hours and one day it was about two hours. I think it’s so sheer it seems to wear away super fast.
Like most Physicians Formula product it comes in two shades only, Natural and Rose. Natural is the more coral-ish peach of the two however, once applied I felt like both shades look very similiar.

Overall, I think Physicians Formula Sexy Booster Sexy Glow Blush is something you’ll have to try for yourself as you might just like it. Personally the sheerness, frost, and powdery texture of the blush just didn’t do it for me.

Very cute presentation here but a solid blush color with a lot less “glow” would be better for me.
