Let’s take a look yes?
I think as both a lip balm and a lipstick Butter London Lippy Tinted Balm makes for an excellent hybrid formula. These have a lighter balmy texture with a semi-matte finish that provides a nice bit of medium color coverage to lips. I think if you like the benefits of a balm in a lipstick style formula that’s lacks shimmer and sparkle you should get on well with these. Like a balm they do offer some moisture…they kinda have the texture of an EOS Lip Sphere to me with a bit of waxy element. Color lasts fairly long without fading or migrating and I see about a four hour wear from the balm before it wears away at hour five and leaves a pleasant staining effect behind. They have a high sheen finish and a very faint vanillish taste which thankfully is pleasant when compared to the too strong flavor and fragrance of Butter London’s Lippy Lipglosses.
I think it’s difficult to combine elements of different products into a single product but Butter London does a rather great job of capture the application and color of a lipstick here with the moisturizing balminess of a lip balm product.
Overall, Butter London Lippy Tinted Balm proves an interesting product for those seeking the benefits of a balm with the color of a lipstick and proves that Butter London isn’t JUST about nails!
