Photo Finish Primer Water

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water ($32) is a primer water that’s silicone, alcohol, and oil free. We’ve heard plenty about makeup finishing sprays but primer water?

Could prove interesting!

Etude House Lock n Summer Face Conditioning Fixer is a product you might well be familiar with. It acts as a prep as well as a setting spray for makeup. I thought it interesting that Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water focuses on the prepping aspect only.

This supercharged primer water contains electrolytes to hydrate skin and wake it up to prepare it for makeup. It absorbs easily into skin while creating a hydrating finish for makeup. You can use it throughout the day to restore moisture and wake skin up.

Needless to say it sounds very interesting to me!

It’s available now at Ulta.com.

Josie maran used to have a spray primer and I loved it. It plumped your skin and made a perfect base for makeup. Hopefully this could be a replacement for me since they discontinued it

You had me at silicone free! I’m so happy that more brands are making silicone free products! still on the hunter for the perfect silicone free liquid foundation that actually controls oil!

Amy when you find that perfect silicone free foundation that controls oil, tell the Muse because I want the same thing!

Will do! I have a few that I plan on testing out soon, as well as the Skindinavia oil control primer spray.

We may have to try to get Josie to bring the one she made back. I love her products. I don’t really like Smashbox primers, if they would offer a sample I would try it. I hate spending that much on something I may not use..or, at least, a small trial sized bottle.

This sounds interesting! Though I immediately thought of MAC’s Fix + and Mineralize Sprays. Would be interesting to see how similar this is to them!

I went to the Urban Decay event at Ulta this past Saturday and they were using b6 Vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep Spray. It says: redness reducing, pore minimizing, oil absorbing. They also claim that you can use it to refresh as the day wears on.
I have only used it twice and I’m not oily at all so I can’t say how well it controls that. It was also claimed that it also refreshes and moisturizes. Time will tell but at least it didn’t do anything not good. LOL
I’m sure I will end up trying this one from Smashbox eventually. I’m really digging their foundation, cc cream, and concealer these days.

Sounds just like LORAC’s AquaPrime from back in the day… It was an awesome product. Wonder if Smashbox’s lives up to it

I am so curious about this. Thankfully I finally have a real Ulta near me, and I can finally touch and play and try things before buying them.

Hopefully they will come out with a ‘travel size’ in a kit, so we can all try it cheaply.

I had a makeup artist who did my makeup for my anniversary party and she used this primer water and my makeup looked flawless. Now my skin is oily and I use MAC primer and probably will switch to this because it’s light and refreshing.
