Visee CC Concealer1

I recently featured Visee CC Concealer in my 10 Awesome Asian Beauty You Can Buy Now post if you recall. One of the things that makes Visee CC Concealer a bit unique is the packaging. These new small click style concealer pens with an attached puff for application are becoming increasingly popular as of late! Some brand new concealers like Burberry Cashmere Concealer feature the same exact packaging as well!

However, perhaps the packaging isn’t all that new or unique just on a smaller scale from products like Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Concealer! I admit the smaller packaging is very appealing as the puff is smaller than the size of a dime which means it fits more comfortably and easily under eyes for precise concealer application where as Maybelline’s Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Concealer puff is a lot larger in size and didn’t quite fit so well under eyes.

Let’s take a look at Visee’s version and formula!

Visee CC Concealer is a collagen hyaluronic acid infused concealer pen that promises to provide lasting coverage that conceals acne scarring, face blemishes, and dark circles.

I know some folks are revolted by packaging with a sponge like this as it can’t be removed and cleaned. Personally I don’t mind and I find the sponge very, very handy. The puff or sponge is very soft and it feels quite lovely under eyes. Simply twist the bottom of the pen to get concealer flowing into the puff. Now you can swipe it on and even blend with the little attached puff. Pretty handy for touch ups on the go as unlike brushes you’d find on products like YSL Touche Eclat, you don’t have to actually touch your face to blend out since the little puff will do the work for you!

As much as I like this packaging, I couldn’t say the same for the concealer formula. As this is an Asian formula it’s only available in two shades so I hauled the second shade. The second shade is a lighter beige with peachy undertones that didn’t quite work out well under my eyes. I wish this had a bit more of a brightening to perk up my tired eyes. The coverage runs on the sheerer side so if you have heavier dark circles this formula might struggle to conceal them. Coverage was ok for me as I don’t have super dark circles but I’m always looking for something that brightens tired looking eyes while concealing puffiness and this didn’t quite do that. I think the peachy beige shade just wasn’t one that offered a well rested finish under my eyes.

The concealer is quite creamy and it blends well but I wouldn’t call it hydrating and considering it contains hyaluronic acid I did expect way more moisture than it provided. It sets to a satiny matte finish which thankfully didn’t crease or cake under my finely lined eyes. It does fade within a 6 hour period in my experience and faster in humid weather if you’re outside for a while wearing it.

Props for the cool packaging, Visee! But the formula didn’t impress this concealer junkie! Something a little more moisturizing with a bit more coverage and something that brightened while giving my eyes a perky appearance would make this a better product.

Visee CC Concealer isn’t available within the US as it is a Japanese product but shops like sasa.com carry it!
