Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor Review & Swatches
Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor ($7.49 at Harmons) are a new range of matte liquid lipsticks launching for Spring 2016. I purchased all six shades of Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor at Harmons but keep in mind you might not see these until January or February in drugstores like CVS, Walgreens, etc..
Obviously the entire liquid lipstick rage will follow us through to Spring 2016 since Maybelline also has a new matte liquid lipstick formula upcoming for Spring 2016 as well!
Let’s take a look at Revlon’s formula because it really is something to rave about.
Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor are available in six shade selections on the display I came across however, at some point I sure hope they do an entire range of colors as I really love this formula.
These come housed in a flat rounded tube that kinda reminds me of Hourglass’s Extreme Sheen High Shine Lipgloss but they are a bit wider and a lot less tall compared to the Hourglass glosses. Each gloss holds 0.2 oz of product and has a sponge applicator for application.
Now before I rave I just want to mention they do have a flavor and fragrance that kinda tastes like cherry cough syrup. I thought they tasted very pleasant but I can see the flavor being an issue for sensitive users so I just thought I’d bring that up here.

Personally I think Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor takes the idea and formula of a liquid lipstick to a very new and exciting level. I think describing them as matte can be a bit misleading as they aren’t truly matte in finish. However, this does not take away from the formula in my opinion as they wear incredibly well but most importantly the formula is very comfortable and light on lips. At first application they feel like a thin liquid lip balm of sorts. They wrap lips up in a nice cushy almost balmy layer of color that feels lightly hydrating. I think they apply, look, and feel like a lipgloss on my lips versus a lipstick but Revlon does color them a “lipcolor” so I guess you can say that’s neither here (in lipstick land) or there (in lipgloss land). Lipcolor can I guess refer to a hybrid formula that applies like a gloss but has the color of a lipstick. That very much look like a lipgloss at the initial application since they have a hint of a nice shine. As they set the finish develops a little further looks almost like it has a cream or semi-matte finish but still the very comfortable, lightweight feels remains on lips with a little hint of nice moisture.

Unlike many of the liquid lipstick products we’re seeing at the moment these do not set to a point you need to haul out the big guns to remove them with an oil based remover. They do however, wear for a solid five hours without migrating, feathering, or cracking and looking dry. The formula maintains that balmy cushiness from the first application which I find very pleasant!
I think Revlon kinda reinvented the idea behind matte lipcolor here. These have a hybrid consistency that reminds me of a lip balm, lipgloss, and lipstick all in one. They did a fabulous job with the consistency, the pigmentation is incredible too with strong, vivid color pay off on first application, and the formula is a joy to apply and wear.
Loves these!
