Etude House Berry Delicious Fantastic Color Eyes Review & Swatches
Strawberry Fondue and Strawberry Mojito are two new, limited edition Etude House Berry Delicious Fantastic Color Eyes Eyeshadow Palettes that launched with the Etude House Berry Delicious Spring 2016 Collection.
These palettes brings so many childhood memories back for me. They look like cute, fake makeup I had as a kid and they also remind me of my obsession with Strawberry Shortcake and Rose Petals. Granted there are no roses here but I dunno, the packaging has an 80’s cartoon kinda vibe going on.
Take a look!
These palettes come housed in small plastic compacts one of which is red and one pink both are dotted with little strawberries. Inside you’ll find six shades of eyeshadow and a double-ended sponge applicator for application. Both palettes feature a mix of shimmery, matte, and frost finishes.
Strawberry Fondue is obviously inspired by strawberries all the day. This palette is a mix of bright pinks and reds combined with browns, lighter pinks, and gold. You have three shimmer shades here and three matte shades. Like the recent In the Cafe and Juice Bar Palette that I reviewed these shades all require a good deal of building to get the best color pay off. The shimmers are flaky with very lighter color pay off and do have fall out during application. The mattes run a little drier so a good deal of building is required with all the shades in this palette. The darker shades all and all are the ones that have the best color pay off. For my look below I used the shimmery brown shade called Dip! Dip! all over my lid and I used the shimmery red in the outer v blended into the brown. It’s a chocolate strawberry kinda look! Please excuse my irritated eye! I used that dumb Simple Eye Makeup Remover and it totally made my eyes red and runny!
Shades:
- Hazelnut Chocolate (dark tan matte)
- Berry Milk Chocolate (soft peachy pink matte)
- Sugary Buttery (light white gold shimmer)
- Cheese Berry (pinkish red matte)
- Fresh Strawberry (strawberry red shimmer)
- Dip! Dip! (chocolate brown shimmer)
Strawberring Mojito is not as strawberry inspired as Strawberry Fondue. This palette is more orange-y with soft shades of mint, brown, cream, and orange. This palette contains three shimmer shade, one matte, one satin, and a semi matte with micro shimmer. The formula all have the same performance I described above. They are pretty sheer, with fall out, and the shimmers are buildable but don’t have a ton of color.
Shades include:
- Soda Water (frosty white gold cream)
- Lime & Berry Squeeze (light peachy coral)
- Spearmint (shimmery minty green)
- Crushed Strawberry (peachy orange)
- Berry Brown Sugar (milk chocolate brown)
- Mojito Party! (semi matte dark bark brown with gold micro shimmer)
With time and a good deal of patience and the use of a good cream base you can create some fun looks with these little palettes. I liked them but they prove a bit of a chore to use as you really need to build and build for the best color pay off. But when I have time to play around with them I don’t necessarily mind. I also feel like the shade selection is unique, particularly with Strawberry Fondue, as you really never see many brands doing red eyeshadows so that alone might make you want to take the plunge.
They aren’t without issues but the Etude House Berry Delicious Fantastic Color Eyes Eyeshadow Palettes are cute that’s for sure.
