l'oreal la palette lip plum and pink

L’Oreal La Palette Lip are now available in two new shades of La Plum and La Pink. The original lip palettes launched earlier this year for Spring 2016 and honestly, I thought they were a one off. None the less I hauled both and actually really, really liked them. I’m not a fond lip palette girl as I find them messy but both were quite nice!

So sure, I’m excited about the launch of two new ones! The original palettes were $11.99 each at Bed, Bath, and Beyond and included five shades each. One was a nude selection and the other was a plum selection. As with many drugstore items lately, L’Oreal does raise the price alarmingly on these new version at $16.99 for eight shades. They are currently offered as Buy 1, Get 1 50% Off at Ulta.com but I have to admit I still winced at the price tag. Revlon recently priced their Eyes, Lips, + Cheek Palette at $17.99 each which I felt was a bit absurd. Seems like you really have to aim for sales and clip coupons to get a good deal at the drugstore lately! Maybelline’s Lip Palette which launched last year for $11.99 that turned out to be limited edition was a deal in comparison as it too, contained eight shades but was $11.99. It just boggles my mind a little bit how drugstore prices continue to rise.

But I’ll digress from my ranting and give you a few more deets on these palettes. Both palettes contains mix and match shades in three finishes that include creams, mattes, and highlighting/sheerer shades and each follows a pink or plum color scheme with the plum looking like it contains the more deeper shades!

I’m not sure I’m yet willing to dish out near $20 on a lip palette from L’Oreal but having tried the original ones maybe they can convince me.

What do you think of the new La Palette Lip shades?

I think I’m going to buy these once they launch in store at Ulta and there’s a sale because the original ones were fantastic!

I really liked the originals too. Not sure if I’m willing to splurge that much on the new ones though! I’m going to check harmons and bbb and hopefully score a deal!

Not a lip palette girl at all so these are a pass but you are right, drugstore prices are outrageous! And the quality is iffy. Revlon’s eyeshadows are pretty terrible so for them to charge $17.99 for that new eye/lip/cheek palette is crazy. Besides, most people hate lipgloss included inside a palette which also houses powders. You need to do a post about drugstore prices ( or did you already, I can’t remember) because I’m curious what other people’s opinions are.

Ugh I wanted the original ones so bad but just kept putting it off because of the price. Dang it, now I have skippers remorse. My favorite drugstore lipsticks are actually Loreal…smell and all! They’re so smooth and pigmented :). I’ll probably grab one of these when they arrive at my local Ulta.

They look great but the price not so much. I think they raise the prices, we use the coupons and end up paying the “original price” if that makes sense.

Seeing all the prices makes me go “Yikes!!” It’s weird how I would consider Sephora brand stuff now is the same price, if not a tad cheaper at this rate.

these might be really pretty used as blushes as well as lippie colors. Izzy, i know that multitasking products kinda squicks you out but it might help justify the price a bit.

No idea how I got so lucky with these, but I went to the Walmart near my house today and they had 2 of each of these colors clearanced out for $5. The Walmart is a slightly smaller one – I’m guessing that these were clearanced because their smaller L’Oreal section doesn’t have a permanent spot for these! Seems like just a fluke probably, but hopefully a few other people will get lucky with these as well! Thank you Muse for your review on the other lip palettes in January, which made me want to pick these up too!

Can anyone tell me if these have the usual L’oreal lipstick taste and smell? Cause I really want the Plum one, but HATE the “Colour Riche” taste/smell….
