About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Does anyone else feel that Tarte recycles the same brown, burnt orange and purple shades in every palette?

  • Maria

I agree 200%. Too many Browns and neutrals with Tarte. Same old. Same old but a different name for the shade. I was not interested in graveyard palette either.

Yes , girl, yes ! My thoughts exactly! I do love Tarte as a brand tho. However, Their Palletes rarely excite me anymore. I kinda feel like, once you have 1 or 2 of their palletes with a good mix of shimmers and mattes , you kinda now have it all. Too many dupes within their own brand , IMO.

I would LOVE a nice palette like this or a tartlette palette that was in greens. It would be fantastic if they would stop making the same palette with different cases.

  • Robin

I agree with all of the above. While recycling is good for the environment, it’s not good for our makeup palettes. 🙁

Love Tarte, love the packaging, but I’m so sick of all neutral palettes from them.

I agree with the comments above, once you have one or two Tarte palettes, you have them all. The surprising thing is that they have sold so many of their look-alike eye and cheek palettes. I wish they would do shades of green (Now a UD Naked Green would be glorious).

I agree with tarte always using similar colors…what I like about this one is that it’s smaller than the Tarlette palattes….I only ended up using a few of the colors in the bigger palette, so I never felt like I got my monies worth. So, Muse, do you prefer this one or Swamp Queen better?

I haven’t tried this one so, I can’t really say! Sorry!

  • Kristy

Would you suggest this palette for someone who doesn’t own any high end palettes yet, and doesn’t own any Tarte products (other than a lip crayon)?

Thinking of either this OR the Lorac Unzipped. 🙂

I haven’t tried this one yet kristy so can’t recommend!
