Wet n Wild Pop! Coloricon Lip Gloss Review & Swatches
Wet n Wild Pop Art Coloricon Lip Gloss ($2.99 at Walgreens) is a new limited edition variation of Wet n Wild Coloricon Lipgloss that launched with the new Wet n Wild Pop! Back to School Fall 2016 Collection.
You might recall the original sheer line of Coloricon Lipglosses that launched with the Wet n Wild Venice Beach Summer 2015 Collection. This new formula packs on considerably more pigmented than those! So, if you loved them but wanted more pigment, you’re in luck as Wet n Wild Pop! Coloricon Lipgloss bring it!
Wet n Wild Pop! Coloricon Lip Gloss are available in six, limited edition shades with special edition packaging that feature a white barrel and a conversation bubble that reads POP! It kind of reminds me of the old 1960’s Batman series starring Adam West. If you haven’t watched the series, well, we can’t be friends anymore. No but in all seriousness, anytime Batman and Robin got into a fight with some villain these little conversation bubbles would pop up with words like POP! BAM! POW! I guess it made the fighting scenes a little less violent!? Who knows! But Batman fans know how amusing these little scenes were!
They prove a little smaller in size at 0.11 oz compared to the original release of 0.12 oz each but the round barrel packaging remains the same aside from the limited edition print at the cap. In my original review, I expressed how much they reminded me of the MAC Dazzleglass packaging. They have a paddle foot sponge applicator like the originals as well which makes application very smooth. Sadly, they do now have a subtle vanilla fragrance and flavor where as the originals did not.
I find the formula remains pleasantly the same if not a little bit thicker this time around. The texture is quite moist and pleasant on my drier lips with a good deal of shine and a good deal of pigmentation that’s almost but not quite medium in finish. All of the shades are a cream finish with no shimmer, sparkle, or glitter. I find the texture has a gel-like consistency that hugs lips in a nice hydrating formula that doesn’t move or migrate through the three hour wear!
I wish the color selection was a little more wearable for me but the two colors I did get I enjoyed! Hopefully Wet n Wild releases some more shades as we grow closer to Fall.
All in all, this was a very nice, affordable, lipgloss formula that packed good color and a beautiful non-sticky formula that wore beautifully!
