http://rstyle.me/n/b9q45rp9yw” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”>Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Concealer is a new concealer that has a hydrating core center infused with Hyaluronic Acid to hydrate dry under eyes and help them to retain that moisture. This little concealer is launching in five shades selections with the new Neutrogena Hydra Boost Makeup Collection for Spring 2017.

Let’s take a look at my review and swatches.

I have to admit I’m no really a huge fan of concealers with “moisturizing” cores. I instantly think of the grease-fest that was Benefit Fake Up Concealer when I see concealers like this. But Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Concealer does so surprise.

This comes housed in a rather slick silver barrel with clear cap that’s 0.12 oz in size and $12.99. I thought it was pretty pricey to be honest but after using it I’d likely totally buy it again. I purchased the shade Light which was bit to pasty for me but they didn’t have Light/Medium in stock sadly!

I love this formula. It reminds me of the creamy, hydrating texture of Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer Hydrate. This is smooth, creamy, and glides on like butter. It doesn’t tug in the least and the light, thin, creamy texture is very, very, very easy to blend under my dry, finely lined eyes. I was doing a little jig as I applied this because 1. It’s rare to come across a hydrating drugstore concealer and 2. It’s rare to come across a stick concealer that’s so creamy and hydrating! Typically sticks are rather a b1tch to apply. These glides on so easily and has a very hydrating texture but nothing that’s greasy or shiny. However, beware oily skin users you might not love this texture and you might feel it’s a bit too moisturizing for you. But us dry skin folks will adore it. The blending process was brilliant and I had no issues with it settling into my finer lines. I did have to set with a smidge of powder though because it’s the type of concealer that wears away at around five hours. It needs a little something something to set it for all day wear. I dust a little Ben Nye Banana Powder over it and I’m good to go. The coverage is..mmmm, almost but not quite medium! But this does a good job concealing my tired eyes and puffiness. It might struggle a little though if you darker circles.

It’s feels amazing under my eyes, doesn’t dry them out, and even leaves them pleasantly plumped and moist. The wear is extended considerably with powder on top and the concealer applies and blends with ease.

What more could you want?

I like this one and I’d totally buy it again! And I actually will as soon as I find that Light/Medium shade 🙂

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Concealer gets a Muse Approval.

It’s available now at drugstores, neutrogena.com, and walmart.com and at Ulta.com.

I have really dry skin too and loved this and the foundation. They don’t have a ton of coverage but I would agree with almost medium. After they sit on my skin a while I look in the mirror and notice that my skin looks younger and plumper with fine lines diminished. I haven’t been this excited about a Neutrogena launch in a long time!

Right? I really liked it too! I love the foundation! LOVE! Sheer, lightweight, lovely! 😀 Me either, I’m quite impressed so far!

  • Jes

Excited! I totally ordered this along with the lip balm you recently reviewed. Thanks Muse!

The first ingredient is dimethicone. Honestly, for the price tag, I expect better ingredients. I will pass on this. Cosmetic companies reply too heavily on ‘cones and they are not great for your skin.

Finally! I concealer with the color on the outside and the hydrating element on the inside! That’s where Benefit got it wrong. It was way too sheer by having the pigment in the center. I’ll definitely be picking this up!

One question though, did you find it to get cakey at all after setting it with powder? That’s the problem I had with the Amazing Cosmetics Concealer Hydrate. I couldn’t get it to set properly! 🙁

    • Isabella Muse

No, thankfully not! I use a small brush when I apply powder on top so that might be key 😀

      • Katie

Hm… I do too. I have a small fluffy(er) brush that I generally pat the powder onto my concealer with, then brush away after I do my eyes. I tried using less powder with the AC concealer but then it creased really bad 🙁 Still worth trying out this one though!

ah I don’t do that. I typically apply all my makeup, concealer, foundation, eyeshadow, etc….and at the last step I sweep powder under my eyes. Maybe try that?

  • Lori

Oooh, I think I want to try this one because at 43, my under eye area is getting that dry, wrinkly thing too
