Wet n Wild Mega Cushion Soft Matte Lip Cream ($4.99) is a new matte lip cream that launched with the brand new Wet n Wild Mega Cushion Collection for Spring 2017. These little Wet n Wild Mega Cushion Soft Matte Lip Creams are available in three shade selections. If by chance, you’re were thinking that these look an awful lot like the Sephora Wonderful Cushion Matte Lip Cream, you’d be correct! They do indeed remind me of Sephora’s version.

Here’s my review and swatches.

And interesting thing to take note of is Wet n Wild Mega Cushion Soft matte Lip Cream is $5 and weights in at 0.23 oz in size. Sephora’s version contained more at 0.304 oz and only set you back a mere $3 more. I thought the price was a little bit much in all honesty and I’ve noticed that Wet n Wild’s prices have gone up increasingly over the years. At the time, I have to admit, I blamed Fergie but now that Fergie’s gone the prices are still climbing upward. Granted, it’s still a great budget brand but this particular lip cream, at this size, might be better priced at perhaps $2.99 or $3.99. Just a thought! But none the less, it’s still fantastic and till worth that five buck price tag!

I picked up the shade Melon It Like It Is which was the more wearable shade for me as the other shades were a hot pink and purple neither of which really appealed to me. I remember not loving the shade line up for Sephora’s Collection either but this time around I have to admit the melon shade from Wet n Wild was very wearable. Just wish there were more shades available. No ingredients are listed as I would have liked to compare the formula to Sephora’s as they seem identical to me. Like Sephora’s version this includes a rounded ball applicator for application and a squeeze tube which allows product to flow into the tip for application. It looks identical to the one featured on Milani’s new Retouch + Base Light-Lifting Concealer! Although not exactly great for blending concealer, this applicator works great on lips and hugged the contours of my lips quite nicely and left a wash of smooth color behind. The formula reminds me more of a stain as it hugs lips in a second-like finish. The matte finish is smooth and didn’t adhere to my drier lips. It wasn’t a hydrating formula but the creamy textured applied easily without dragging or looking dry. It wears for about four hours before the color starts to get a little drier and cracked at the inner corners of my mouth.

It did not have a flavor or a fragrance and it is Made in China for those interested.

Wet n Wild Mega Cushion Soft Matte Lip Cream is quite delightful! This applies and wears comfortably on my lips with a nice pop of pigment and a matte formula that didn’t dry my lips out!

Wet n Wild Mega Cushion Soft Matte Lip Cream is launching now at Walgreens.

That’s a good color on you! Are you sure the ingredients weren’t listed somewhere? I thought that by law they had to be, even if on a separate tag or handout.

I bought the melon color this week at a Walgreen’s here in Oklahoma City, and I have to say, I like it, too–and I’m not the fondest of matte lip color. It IS hard to squeeze the cream up and into the applicator–has this been a problem for anyone else, or is mine just wonky?

hmm no! I was good with the applicator. It flowed easily! Return it, get a new one! could be a fluke!
