My hair smells pretty courtesy the new Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus On-The-Go Conditioning Hair Fragrance! How many times have I said I wish Shea Moisture would introduce some sort of body mist or perfume? They have some incredibly pretty fragrances that they used in their hair and body care collection but they are lacking a fragrance mist or perfume. Sure, they released that line of Beauty Hack Fragrance Oils but those aren’t quite what I want.

None the less, lately they have been stepping up their skincare game and they have been introducing a lot of new products so I have hopes at some point they’ll tackle a fragrance category.

But for now, I’ll settle for this yummy Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus On-The-Go Conditioning Hair Fragrance as it least my hair will smell pretty.

I very randomly ran across this new hair fragrance mist at Target. I didn’t even know about it, never heard of it, etc…! It’s available in four different scents or at least that’s the labels I seen on the shelf at Target. Sadly, they didn’t have all four available but I did score the Coconut & Hibiscus which was the one I really wanted anyway.

These come in a 4 oz bottle and will set you back $7.99. For some reason they are a hot mess. I experienced a Trader Joe Facial Cleansing Oil moment when I purchased this. ALL the bottles they had were oily and messy and greasy. I chalked it up as people opening and perhaps misting it. I purchased it anyway and wiped it off when I got home. After trying it I realized it probably wasn’t people misting it in store, the bottle was just faulty. Since purchasing this I purchased one other bottle and had the same problem. Each time you mist this it leaks from the rim of the bottle and drips down the bottle. It’s quite messy. I haven’t yet but I have plans to buy a new empty 4 oz bottle and see if that resolves the situation. Again, this doesn’t seem to be reserved to my bottle only. It seems like all the bottles are faulty.

Aside from that I really liked it. I started using it on my hair after getting out of the pool for the day. So, I’d swim, rinse off my hair, and mist this on. It not only scents my hair with a blend of yummy coconut and the light sweetness of hibiscus blooms but it also hydrates and conditions. It’s made from coconut oil so it does have a bit of an oily, greasy feel which might not be good for oily hair or those with oily roots. I have drier hair that’s quite wavy so it helped smooth my hair and conditioned it nicely. The scent was an added bonus! I wouldn’t say it’s a long-wearing, lingering fragrance but it did stick around for about six or so hours.

The bottle issue is a problem for me but aside from that the Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus On-The-Go Conditioning Hair Fragrance is worth a pick up if you have drier hair and are looking for a quick way to freshen it up and make it smell pretty.

Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus On-The-Go Conditioning Hair Fragrance is available now at target.com.

I had the same problem with the Hold and Shine Moisture mist. The pump leaked and then fell apart. I had to transfer the contents to another spray bottle and now it works beautifully. I love Shea Moisture but sometimes their pumps and bottles suck.

It’s a pretty basic bottle I wonder why so much trouble!?

I would email the company and let them know. They may send you a coupon for a free one, you never know. I always email companies just to let them know when there is an issue. Sometimes they’re not aware of it until people tell them. I have gotten coupons in the past or even a replacement one sent.

Sometimes I get so busy the thought doesn’t even cross my mind. I don’t even want a replacement, I can always get a bottle and pour it in but would be good they knew that the bottle was faulty!

What a bummer about the bottle. I also have a box of empty 4-oz blue glass mister bottles for mishaps like this and will check this out and transfer the contents. Too bad we have to do that. Things should just work.
