I picked up Pacifica Berry Matcha Recharge Face Lotion at Ulta recently because Pacifica is on sale at the moment with either Buy 1, Get 1 50% Off (hair care, fragrance, etc…) or Buy 1, Get 1 40% Off (skincare, makeup, etc..). I’ve been using Lush Imperialis lately because my skin is doing this weird combination thing where I’m a bit drier on my cheeks but oily on my forehead and chin. Unfortunately, Imperialis isn’t cutting it and I decided to go really lightweight with my facial moisturizer in the AM which is what lead me to purchasing Berry Matcha Recharge Face Lotion.

Pacifica Berry Matcha Recharge Face Lotion is 1.7 oz in size and $18 but thanks to that sale I was able to score it for $11 and some change. I think it’s a pretty basic moisturizer for nearly $20 so, I’m pretty happy with the sale price as paying $18 for it, well, I dunno I’d probably question that. I’m pretty happy with the size as I know I can easily use up 1.7 oz and as the Fall is closing it I won’t likely need such a lightweight moisturizer as the cool weather sets in.

There aren’t any stand out ingredients here that are wildly beneficial to your skin. You might note there are three alcohols but no worries all are good, non-drying alcohols. It does contain shea butter which deserves mentioning if it’s a butter that doesn’t agree with your skin type. According to the brand it contains berry happy extract with Arctic Root are known for hydrating and antioxidant properties. It also contains coconut water, caffeine, and green tea. It’s apparently for normal or combo skin types that are age defiant which fit the bill perfectly for me as I’m suffering from a bit of oily as I said above and my skin is fairly resilient and it’s a lot younger than I actually am so, I’d consider myself age defiant. I have to admit I’ve never met a moisturizer that was age defiant! I’m always looking for products that promote anti-aging but hey, I wanted basic and this is it.

One of the things that might be an issue for many users is this does have a berry-ish smell. It reminds me of a plastic doll scent. I liked it and I’ve always been a fan of scented skincare so it didn’t bother me but it might bother sensitive users.

I liked this. It’s perfect for Summer and ideal for my little oily situation. The formula is lightweight, almost creamy gel-like in consistency, and quick to absorb. It provides very light, weightless moisture without creating unnecessary shine or oil. It wears well over my SPF and makeup without being heavy.

Summer is coming to an end shortly and I do wish I had discovered this a little earlier. I like it a lot. It’s a basic, to the point moisturizer that’s perfect for the humid, warmer weather.

I’d recommend a purchase if you have oily skin and just need the basics.

Pacifica Berry Matcha Recharge Face Lotion is available now at ulta.com.
