The Best Eyeshadow Palettes to Haul at Sephora’s Sale

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

There are plenty of eyeshadow palettes to choose from at the moment but I thought I’d compile a list of the best eyeshadow palettes to haul during the Sephora Sale or at the very least give you an idea of some that would be worth purchasing if you don’t already own them.

I know, I know! Some of us are tired of eyeshadow palettes but there are still some very solid palettes worth of exploration right now considering you can take advantage of an extra 20% off.

Here’s a list of ones I think are worthy of hauling!

I think some folks forgot about it but the Kat Von D Shade + Light Glimmer Eye Contour Palette ($49) (Review & Swatches) is worth a pick up if you didn’t already haul it. It’s a solid palette with an excellent round of shimmery nudes and with the Holidays around the corner it’ll be a lovely way to get a festive eye look!

I LOVED the Tarte Buried Treasure Palette (Review & Swatches)! If you haven’t gotten your hands on it yet now is a good time to do so. The shadows are soft, creamy, easy to blend and brighten up my entire eye look. This was another of my favorite eyeshadow palettes this year and I highly recommend it for aging or finely lined eyes.

At this point everyone owns it but if you don’t the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette ($42) (Review & Swatches) is one of my top picks in the eyeshadow palette world. The shades are unique, the formula is beautifully silky, and the pigmentation is crazy here.

Too Faced Just Peachy Velvet Matte Eyeshadow Palette ($45) (Review & Swatches) was a surprise for me considering I wasn’t super impressed with the original Peach Eyeshadow Palette. These are unique shades but also, the formula was silky and easy to blend. Considering that Too Faced Eyeshadow Palettes have been hit or miss lately, this came as a surprise at how much I truly enjoyed it. It is worth hauling.

Too Faced Just Peachy Mattes

I purchased the Tarte Tartelette Toasted Eyeshadow Palette ($46) (Review & Swatches) quite recently and I thought it was a much more easier to use palette compared to Urban Decay Heat which lacked transitional shades. This palette is packed with fiery, warm shades that are truly beautiful.

I haven’t tried the Sephora Winter Magic Eyeshadow Palette ($10) personally but I will be hauling it. Why? Because Sephora does so surprise sometimes with their smaller palette launches! Just check out my The Delicate Eyeshadow Palette to see the proof.

Sephora Winter Magic Eyeshadow Palette

Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Eyeshadow Palette ($65) is one of my favorite eyeshadow palettes this year. It’s filled with some incredibly unique shades and although, the formula isn’t always agreeable to some people I really enjoy it! During the sale it’s extra great as you can save more than $12 off the retail price!

Huda Beauty Desert Dusk

Colour Pop Golden State Of Mind Shadow Palette ($26) is a palette I’m eagerly awaiting. I ordered it the day it launched and I have high hopes for it. It seems a worthy purchase especially if you snag it during the sale.

I haven’t dug into Violet Voss’s eyeshadow palettes yet but I ordered the Taupe Notch PRO Eyeshadow Palette ($45) and just looking at it makes me happy at this point. It might just be worth a haul during the sale!

HOPEFULLY the Huda Obsessions Eyeshadow Palettes will still be around tomorrow. I couldn’t wait and hauled them today! $27 bucks gets you nine eyeshadow shades in some truly gorgeous shade selections. Take 20% Off and they become even a better deal!

Which eyeshadow palettes are you hauling during the sale?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Great roundup! I think I’m the only one on Earth who didn’t love the ABH Modern Renaissance.. can’t explain it but every time I used it I hated how my eyeshadow came out and wiped it off! I ended up gifting it to a friend.
I’m a regular VIB so I’m eagerly awaiting my turn~!

    • Isabella Muse

aw sorry LA! But plenty of fish in the sea as they say ;-D <3! Don't worry, coming soon for you!!!!!

    • Randi MacDonald

I never bought the ABH Mod renaissance, I didn’t think I’d get a lot of use out of the pink/red colors.

I too, didn’t like the MR palette. I bought it a few weeks ago at the Ulta 20% sale and I found I didn’t like the shades and I couldn’t get it to work. I also keep swatching the Too Face Just Peachy velvet matte and some of the colors seem like they have absolute no pigment– the opposite of the MR. It was so pigmented that it felt like my arm was getting tired blending. I really wanted to get the by Mario palette. It was more muted and seemed like I would use it a lot, but it was limited edition. Sigh!

This is great thanks….. Does help so much in deciding what to buy. Interesting too see that the Sephora PRO palettes were not listed here. I wanted to buy one of them but was waiting for the sale. Now that you have not mentioned them changed my mind as the price is anyways too steep .

    • Isabella Muse

My pleasure Melissa 🙂 I have this inkling that those Pro Palettes will go on sale at some point!

  • Christina D.

IMO anything Viseart is worth hauling at full price, so a sale is a no-brainer.

      • Emily

I’m so torn between wanting to buy all the Viseart palettes, and wanting to leave them all because I just don’t need them. The only Viseart I have is the Petit Pro, which is good but I can’t say it’s vastly different than other eyeshadows in my collection. Thinking about Cashmere Theory, and Bijou Royale.

  • Tammy

I’ve changed my mind about a hundred times!! The Stila liquid eyeshadows are definitely on my list (maybe, anyway!), and now you’ve got me thinking about the Huda Desert Dusk Palette. That wasn’t even on my radar, lol! The Kat Von D is the one I ought to get, though.

    • Isabella Muse

I highly recommend the Stila Eyeshadows, get the sets they are awesome! Also Huda Desk Dusk YES YES and Kat Von D Glimmer DO IT ;-D lol All great stuff promise!

  • Jana

WOW. Just got my Colourpop Golden State of Mind palette in the mail. It is great, and the shimmer is wonderful. Even if I am 57 years old!

    • Isabella Muse

fantastic ;-D I’m waiting patiently for mine! Enjoy it. You’re never too old for shimmer!

  • Jen R

I’m biting the bullet and hauling the Natasha Denona Lila palette – just can’t resist those purples!! But please don’t tell my husband that I spent $100+ on one eyeshadow palette!!

    • Isabella Muse

      LOL I won’t our secret. It’s a gorgeous palette I really can’t blame you! 😀

  • Sara

I haven’t really seen reviews on the Violet Voss palettes but I’m incredibly tempted. I like the Taupe one too, and maybe the Holy Grail one. The huge one is tempting but it just seems like it’s too huge. Heavy Metals was bad enough with being bulky.

  • Krutika Puntambekar

What do you think of the Pat McGrath Palettes??? Do you think they are worth it?

  • Susan K

Why dont people like the Huda formula? I really wanted desert dusk when it first released but so many on MUA said they returned theirs it scared me off. That little Sephora palette is on my list too! Putting in a request for a special post of ghosts of Christmas makeup past please!

    • Isabella Muse

I think because her mattes are very firm and dense. Also, the glitter shades are loose and have a lot of fall out plus don’t pick up color well with brushes. They are meant to be patted on. Surprisingly I love it. I think both her palettes are outstanding!

      • Susi

Can you skip buying Desert Dusk if you pick up all of the $27 palettes? In other words, are there enough similar shades in the $27 pallettes, or do I still need Desert Dusk? (I think I just said the same thing twice!)

        Susi

        • Isabella Muse

I’m not sure. I just ordered the smaller palettes so haven’t seen them in person, not sure how similiar they are to the DD palette.

  • Crystal Colvin

I’m planning on snagging that Tarte Buried Treasure palette as well as the Clinque Sweet as Honey palette (it’s a Sephora exclusive and not even sold on Clinque’s site!). Now that I’m lloking at those new Huda palette, I might have to grab the mauve one prior to the event, as they are already so affordable and I feel like I just NEED it lol

  • Adrienne

Great Post Muse and timely as always! I will be back to Rouge status by Christmas if I keep this up. I already have a few of the palettes but my goal is to have one quality palette from each of your Muse Approved list. I didn’t see any Marc Jacobs on your list this time but I will pick up the other Too Faced and Kat Von D. I couldn’t wait so I ordered the Huda today and the Nars limited edition kit that you mentioned a while back and got the DAY gift. While I was looking I saw another brand Pretty Vulgar and wanted to know if you have any experience with that brand and I will check your archives. Ulta will need to step it up pretty soon and not wait until Black Friday because we will all have had a cosmetic binge by then and be out of money. Sephora will be getting all of my money. I received my postcard and email save the date.

    • Isabella Muse

thanks girl! ;-D ha thanks I’m flattered! You’re good on Marc Jacobs, a majority of his palettes are awesome and although not reviewed I do love them ;-D I did a few reviews on Pretty vulgar, check the archives, was hit or miss with some of their items 🙂

  • kel h.

i’m going to get the huda one! have been coveting it since you first wrote about it. when does the sale start? i just went to sephora and its still $65. thanks!

  • Emily

I bought and oldie that’son sale, the Make Up For Ever Nudes You Need. Really excited for that, especially at 20% off the already discounted price. Everything else I bought was lip (so many lipsticks! and some balms) and cheek, and one cleansing oil (belif). I’m probably not done buying, but I’m good for now.

  • Nora

I don’t know why but the Ciate Chloe Morello volume 2 is calling my name with the eyeliner, mascara and lippie and so far the reviews I’ve read are good! I liked the colors on the subculture and prism but with all craziness I got discouraged and wanted to try something new and fun, what do you think?

    • Isabella Muse

I haven’t tried the Chloe palette yet sadly so not sure on that one!

  • Shannon. N

I HIGHLY recommend Modern Renaissance!!! I have hit pan on every shade, and I have fully finished 4 shades!!!!

Im lucky that I have a back up! 😀
