Flower Beauty Petal Pout Lip Color ($8.99) is a conditioning lipstick available in matte and cream finishes that recently launched on Ulta’s website. I picked up two shades online but none of the shades actually say which is cream and which is matte. I suspect all 20 shades are matte and finish and the “soft matte and cream finish” refers to the formula in general as that’s exactly what you get here. The texture is creamy but the finish matte.

Here’s some thoughts on the formula.

Flower Beauty Petal Pout Lip Color are available in a nice round up of twenty shades at a mere $8.99 each but are smaller in size at 0.11 oz in size. Your typical drugstore lipstick is 0.15 oz in size and formulas such as Maybelline’s Color Sensational Collection are around $5-$5.99. I’m not overly concerned with the size to be honest since I really enjoyed the formula plus it is so rare I use up an entire lipstick. The come packaged in Flower Beauty’s standard white packaging with a clear cap and rose gold accents. I’ve always been partial to the brand’s pretty rose gold accents and feel like the packaging is quite nice at this price point.

If you hate mattes this is the formula for you. I prefer a glossier lip color but occasionally I run into a matte lipstick that’s delightful and that would be the case with Flower Beauty’s Petal Pout Lip Color. This formula is creamy, smooth, and glides on like butter. It doesn’t accentuate or fall into my natural lip lines nor does it adhere or cling to my dry lips. It isn’t hydrating but it’s also a very comfortable matte that’s sole sucking dry. It’s a very comfortable formula that feels quite lovely on my lips. The finish looks classy and the pigment is excellent on a single swipe without the need to build but only gets better the more you apply.

It’s not the cheapest drugstore lipstick around but it brings quality to the table and to me that’s what matters most. All in all, these little gems pack pigment, an easy to apply formula and a comfortable one to wear.

I like them!

Great neutral and red for you. Good to know about the decent formula. Real pretty.

I never use up a lipstick either, but I’m about to use up Hibis-Kiss which is a matte. I absolutely love the formula and colors. I have a couple of the cremes and I like those too, but the matte doesn’t feel like a matte but is so long wearing and comfortable. I think these are a home run and hope they come out with other colors. Yes cheaper at Walmart for sure. I do find with a couple of them that the bullet wobbles a bit and I am so afraid it will break! Drew, do something with the bullets please! thanks for your review Muse!
