Avon Finally Sets the Dial to Fun for Summer

Remember When Avon Used to Have New Makeup Releases? I mean Avon’s boring nowadays! And hey, what happened to Mark!? The totally ditched the Mark website and now all things Mark are combined on the Avon site which I always find ever so slightly confusing since it went from being Avon’s younger sister to Avon’s black sheep of the family. I mean Mark even had it’s own catalog and now you can’t even find it unless you click the search box and type in Mark.

That sucks.

Anyway, Avon has been off the game for a while. I have to admit I miss the constant round of new releases and great new lipstick formulas. They were really evolving a few years ago but somehow fell off the bandwagon.

But it looks like they might be finding some footing for Summer of this new True Color Sunset Beach Face & Eye Palette is anything to go by. I’d buy it!

Avon True Color Sunset Beach Face & Eye Palette is a limited edition palette coming soon to avon.com that includes a blush and four eyeshadows in aquatic and sandy shades. It’s a rather fun palette! It’s also a welcome release because as I said Avon has been uneventful as hell lately.

Along with the palette they are launching some new True Color Tropical Breeze Multi Liner Lip & Eye Pencils in some fun, funky shades called Strawberry Parfait, Key Lime, and Cool Waters that can be used on your eyes or lips!

These are upcoming soon for Summer 2018.

Hey Avon, remember you have a few fans out here! Keep the fun seasonal stuff coming! I know I’m interested in seeing it.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. It’s about time Avon. However, my friend doesn’t sell Avon anymore. 🙁

And, totally unrelated, but did you see the Physicians Formula Butter palette that Harmon’s has? I’ve been trying to find the one that was exclusive to Walmart when I got an email about the Harmon one. Added to my cart first thing this morning. Now I’ll probably find the Walmart one and end up not liking the perfume.

awww you can always buy online! You mean the $19.99 box!? I was abut to blog it ;-D

  • Hope Cuevas

I would love to see Avon bring back the fun lip glosses I remember from my childhood like the egg and the Nestle bar type of items.

  • Carol

Was thinking the exact same thing! Every season they did a new collection. Not now. So I was pleasantly surprised to see this palette. But drugstores aren’t doing them like they used to either.

    • Isabella Muse

Right!? I’m so sad because they used to do new lipstick formulas often as well but now they rarely do new seasonal makeup launches and stick to re-promoting their perm line! TOO TRUE! Drugstore stuff is slow going!

  • Isabella

When I was selling I looked forward to all the seasonal stuff

maybe if they get back in that game business will pick up?

    thanks for the update

    • Isabella Muse

I never sold it but I was always one of the ones terribly excited for the seasonal makeup launches. Shame it seems they never do any anymore! They should at least attempt to get back in the game! Even their fragrances aren’t really up to par anymore!

Their True Color lipstick is one of my favorites, up there with Revlon’s Super Lustrous, in terms of functionality and affordability. Avon feels like it’s dying and there’s really no reason for it. Is it that this CEO sucks? It has the death spiral of JCPenney, led by a CEO into the dirt, feel to it. And yes poor Mark, chased away. But I think Avon positioned itself as the bargain hunter’s product such that Mark’s higher prices made it a no-go.

Those liners look FUN and I am all in for lime green liner. Thanks for the heads up!

    • Isabella Muse

Agreed on True Color also remember when they did variations of True Color, like shiny or sparkle LE ones. Shame they don’t do anything with the line anymore. Mark’s higher pricing was always slightly a put off to me! It was hard to digest considering Avon was so much more affordable! Wince ;D

      My pleasure!

I definitely miss Avon as it exited the Australian market as of 2nd May. I used to love all of the seasonal things (we did not get all of the US releases) and the older perfumes. Hope you all enjoy the new seasonal products. From an Avon fan Down Under. Isabella Muse please keep up the wonderful work you do on this blog – I love seeing all of the new pretties !

        • Isabella Muse

oh no have they pulled out of Australia? How sad! I, too, used to love some of their older fragrances! It’s a shame most of the new ones aren’t terribly unique or lasting. Aw thank you so very much Tabby 🙂 I’m so glad you enjoy the site!

          • Little Tabby

Hi Isabella Muse, I also noticed that the fragrances are nowhere near as long lasting. I recently found a Santa Claus bottle of Avon Sweet Honesty (it was given to me when I was 8) and it still smelt nice and lasted all day but the new ones just vanish within a few hours. Let’s hope that Avon pick up their game and hopefully come back to Australia. Meanwhile I am exploring other brands such as Clinique (sensitive skin) but I can still wear some things by other brands such as Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick – my favourite. I enjoy seeing what new things are being released in the USA and hopefully we get some of those.

Hey, great. Key Lime can replace the Sephora beautiful monster from that line they d/c’d. That was a very promising ?gel matte? Line that was fab at first, but had less than zero shelf life. And the Mufe chubbier Aqua whatever that C gave an F. It’s a real fun waterline color. Prob is that I know no more reps, and the kiosk is at my Hate Mall. Maybe, during the Nordie’s sale…

  • Christina

This looks like fun. I don’t even remember when the last time I visited the website was. I used to look forward to the seasonal collections, even if I didn’t buy them.

    • Isabella Muse

I used to buy a lot of the LE items. They were fun! Shame they haven’t’ done any in ages 🙁

  • Amy Allen

I used to love and almost always buy the Avon seasonal collections. In fact at one time almost all of my makeup was Avon. But when they stopped doing collections and became super boring, I stopped buying. I doubt I will go back to Avon cause now I have makeup that I really like from Flower Beauty, L’Oreal, Palladio, Maybelline, and Tarte. Their new leadership really did them dirty.

  • Sarah

Oh man! Mark makeup was my jam back in my high school/college days. I had a big train case full and it was pretty much all I wore! I had tons of their eyeshadows, blushes, glosses, and even the lip powders that they sold! That takes me back 🙂

  • Kimmyyy

You know, I used to check out their website and eyeball the different pretty things they had when I was younger, but I never actually bought anything, probably because I wasn’t really into makeup in high school. I feel like most people used to associate them with an older demographic (like they did with Mary Kay), so not many people my age ever looked into them. I’d love to see some fun new affordable makeup come out, so here’s hoping they step up their game. I still need to make a Kiko purchase at some point.

    • Isabella Muse

I always associated avon as being a more mature line until I tried it and ended up liking it! They def don’t market themselves in a way that captures a makeup addict or a younger person’s eye!

  • Maria

I also have the new Avon catalog with the new summer shades. I was in shock with the new makeup items. Every season Avon always used to have new shades and makeup items about 2 or more years ago. I used to look foward to the new seasons. Mark prices also went up tremendously. I hope Avon continues this seasonal trend.

  • Michelle Luna/Michelley/Chelley

Back in ’03 I was a rep for a few years and about 80% of my makeup was Avon/Mark, and I also collected a lot of the spring/summer releases of scents they put out. They used to have so much good stuff, and Mark was a huge favorite for me. Sad that over the years they’ve just sort of disappeared off the radar into boringness (plus they killed off this aMAZing product, it was a firming shower gel and lotion in the SSS line, and I kid you not that shit was spanx in a bottle, I don’t know what magic was in there but they need to re-release that shit on a LARGE scale! If they brought that back I would buy by the case)

  • Silvia

My mom has a friend who sells Avon and I’m sure she’ll be rubbing in the new releases in both of us. Lol! I wanted to try their blush/highliters for a while. This looks pretty! And the colorful crayons would match perfectly with Nyx Brights I still have not played with them and have no idea how to. Been into the Warm shades full force and love all those shades but the brights well…bright! Lol! It’ll be fun pretty soon when we get rid of this gloomy we are having in S. California then we’ll roast and I hate the heat for my runs/walk. Yikes!
Avon bring the teeny lipsticks samples back!
