Spring Collections 2008
By the Muse on April 17, 2008
Cynthia Rowley has done two exclusive fragrances for Avon recently! One is entitled Flower and the other is called Petal.
From what I understand Flower is a Woman’s Parfum while the Petal is an Eau de Toilette for younger girls. I was generally curious about these as I had such a raving review for the Cynthia Rowley for Avon Cosmetic Collection that was released in the Fall.
I ended up purchasing both on E-bay for a ridiculously, obscenely low cost. Flower retails for $30 USD on the Avon site and Petal is $15 USD. I paid about $25 USD for both on E-bay including shipping. Can’t go wrong for the price. The fact that Petal is made for younger girl’s did not really sway me from wanting it!
Both are floral blends which isn’t something I typical like but one of the key notes in the blend is Lily of the Valley and I adore the scent of Lilies so this might be right up my alley!
I’ll be reviewing these for you as soon as they arrive!

Yes, MAC DressCamp is completely sold out online!
MY GOD THE HORROR!
I haven’t seen a collection sell out like in a LONG time! Wow!
The good news is MAC Soho hasn’t yet released the Collection so if you live in New York you can wander over and grab the entire collection by visiting them at:
113 Spring Street
New York, NY 10012
The store is inbetween Von Dutch and American Apparel you can’t miss it!
If you aren’t within the lovely city of New York you can call up the nice folk at MAC Pro and ask them to ship over your goodies and they’ll happily do so for $7 (within the US) for whatever your little heart desires. The package is sent via UPS. This is a good option if you missed the boat ordering online.
The Collection officially releases tomorrow so you can head over or call tomorrow morning! I wouldn’t wait as I imagine it’ll sell out as quickly in store as it did online!
I believe there might be another location in New York that will have the collection! Check Specktra for details as this is an exclusive collection and NOT available at counters or freestanding stores just SELECT Pro Stores!

Dior has introduced a new edition to the family with it’s High Shine Lipstick. Dior makes a fine bit of cosmetic that the Muse both uses and collects however their lipstick line hasn’t been something I can say I’ve indulged in much.
However, upon hearing about the Addict High Shine Lipstick I thought yes indeed this was very me! Visions of T’estimo lipstick and MAC Slimshines danced through my head and I was thinking how Dior probably created a beautifully moisturizing lipstick in an array of colors! I couldn’t wait to try it!
Meh. They could have done a better job with this.
I’m relieved I didn’t get crazy and purchase one of every color because it turns out it’s not all that great. The formula needs a bit of work as it advertises a high shine and gloss but I got neither from it. There isn’t much to say really it just feels like a regular old lipstick.
I’m not going to lie and say I’m not shocked as I expect far better quality from Dior but this definately disappoints. Most of my disappointment stems from the promise of a beautiful glossy feel and lovely shine. I didn’t get either from this and I can’t help but feel ripped off. It just feels like the regular Dior lipstick.
The color selection is vast and the packaging is simple yet pretty but sadly it’s a total bust for me. The Muse suggests saving your money and buying two MAC Slimshines instead as the price of one Dior Addict High Shine Lipstick is $25 USD which isn’t bad if it actually worked but sadly it’s a no go!
Boo Dior! The Muse is saddened and disappointed!
