Lancome Effacernes Waterproof Concealer Review

Another week, another round up of new concealers for you! I’ve slowly been reviewing a concealer a day for the past week in keeping with my introduction article to Good, Bad, and Great Concealers and so far I’ve done reviews on good ones, a bad one, and some cheaper options! This week I’m going to try to focus on great concealers! Excited? Me too!

I’m really excited about today’s review because it’s a waterproof option that I feel extra confident recommending to all my lovely readers in Singapore (or those of you in similarly humid climates). I recently went on vacation and I reached for Lancome Effacernes Waterproof Concealer to tote along with me because I know it would suffer through the humidity, the heat, and the blazing sun and come out none the worst for wear.

Lancome Effacernes Waterproof Concealer promise of waterproof coverage is a promise kept. This concealer is my concealer of choice when I want my eyes to appear awake, refreshed, and dark circle free for long periods of time. It stays where you put it all day long until you’re ready to remove it which means it can suffer wonderfully well under hot humidity, heat, and if you so choose, a day at the beach or pool!

The formula is liquid and quite moisturizing. Although it comes in a liquid formula it’s quite dense so blending is simple without the mess. Pigmentation is wonderful and a little product goes a long way.

I have one minor rant about Lancome Effacernes Waterproof Concealer and that would be the color. I have the lightest shade available and it still seems too dark for me and contains shades of beige which for me are extremely unflattering under the eye area. However, once blended well it does work out well and covers up my dark circles and any baggage I’m sporting.

Aside from my minor rant all else is wonderful on this front. The concealer wears long, doesn’t crease, fade, or cake under my eye nor does it dry my eye area out plus the formula is pure perfection for blending. What more could a girl want?

The price tag is hefty at $27.50 USD however since it promises waterproof coverage and delivers I’d say that isn’t too bad a price to pay!

This one gets a Muse Approval for purchase. The Muse likey and approves of products that promise and deliver! It’s not my holy grail concealer but it’s definately a runner up!

Loves it!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I just have a question! This concealer has been on my wish list for a long time but i i actually break out a lot and i was wondering if this works as well for blemishes and pimples!

    • the Muse

hey kaylee can’t advise you on this one hun I don’t actually wear foundation on my face only under my eyes. you might want something that’s a bit firmer for pimples so you can dab it on and build up better?

  • SandraJT

I’m a bit late to this, but I must say I LOVE this concealer! Beautiful texture, and it DOES NOT CREASE once applied & set. This is the only concealer I’ve found that this is the case with. It isn’t really the greatest for covering up breakouts, but it’s perfect for the eye area.

  • Rachelle

Hello Muse, which color of this did/do you use? I have heard Lancome has extended out the color range since this article. Now the lightest shades are Ivoire (yellow based) and Porcelaine (pink based). I am interested in ordering one of these as the texture and wear looks so good. But not if they are too dark for you as my skin is a bit paler than yours 🙂
