the Balm Cabana Boy Review
If you’re new around these parts you may have missed the drama surrounding the Balm Cabana Boy. Dude, oh my god, so difficult to find. Sephora had released info on it early this Summer but ever after that it was removed and no word about it was around. I later discovered it on a few websites but failed to order it. Finally Sephora slapped it back up and I recently hauled it…ok not so recent, ’bout a month ago. I was quite in love with the Balm Down Boy and of course when I laid eyes on Cabana Boy I got that singing in my blood that was screaming, “Must Have….Must Have…” I imagine you know the sound of that voice in your head that mimics that of a zombie demanding brains for dinner…yes well I get like that with makeup sometimes but it doesn’t come out “Brains………Brains…..” it comes out “Makeup….Makeup…..”
Fact of the matter is when the Balm releases powder blushes in any form I’m normally on line to purchase as they always turn into something very special. And of course the Balm Cabana Boy Blush is special.
Check it after the jump!
Hope you hauled it because it’s gorg. Housed in the traditional Balm packaging with a flip top design, full size mirror, sturdy cardboard packaging, and ever popular vintage style glam girl on the cover this blush rules my universe at the moment. I admit I’m ever so partial to the Balm’s packaging as it has that vintage feel I absolutely adore. The blush can be used on eyes or cheeks, haven’t tried on my eyes yet but on my cheeks it fairly sizzles.
It could be compared to Benefit Dallas in some cases but technically not so much as the shade is very unique and very different from anything else I own. Ahh the shade, the shade….let’s see…it’s a dusky rose with a certain warmth that manages to be both warm and cool in tone. Ideal for the Summer (long since gone sadly) it’ll give a warm rosy glow and fantastic for the Winter as it’ll give a just pinched finish. The formula is silky smooth and blends easily onto cheeks and face. Plenty of pigmentation here so slowly build up color as needed.
Overall…absolute love and Muse Approval for purchase.
It’s fierce packaging is tops with this Muse plus I felt the shade was very unique and different. the Balm excels at creating incredibly fun and wearable shades of blush. It’s $20 and mighty inexpensive in my humblest. You need it in your life.
Loves it!
