VOV Castledew Eyeshadow Review

Lordie I don’t think I’ve blogged the joys of VOV Castledrew Eye Shadow yet. How remiss of me not to introduce you to these tiny little pots of funky color that are so absurdly inexpensive you won’t believe it.

VOV is a Korean brand with a slew of cute little finds that are incredibly inexpensive but manage to pack alot of quality. Like most Korean brands it’s all the quality at a fraction of the cost. If you’re having a lem or two after my post I suggest checking out E-bay to see what deals are hanging out.

But of course my main squee with VOV Castledew Eye Shadow comes from the shimmery finish. The finishes all have a super hint of shimmer that screams Muse. Oh joy I can hear all the shimmer haters now shouting in fury because I likes the glitter. OMGZ! So sorry but indeed the main attraction of these would be the super shimmery finish. Although each shade has an over spray much of it carries to the core product as well. I will say that it depends on shades though as some have more of a buttery smooth finish minus the glittery bits and bobs I hold so dear.

The second thing that’s so appealing about these are the inexpensive price tag. Within Korea they’ll only set you back a few bucks or so. Maybe $3-$4 bucks tops. They sport a pigmented formula that blends quite nicely, bit fall out if you’re dealing with certain shades but aside from that pretty much perfect.

All in all for me they are a win. Likey very much!

I’ve seen ’em on E-bay ranging from $8 to $15 bucks. I wouldn’t pay so much as $15 but I’d settle for $8….worthy of a try out if you haven’t really dipped your hands into Korean makeup before plus it’s something unique and different to give a whirl. If you’re a fan of vibrant, jewel shades with a fine shimmer finish these should appeal.

Loves ’em!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. hi miriam

I have a friend in Korea who does some shopping for me on occasion. The only place I know of that sells korean makeup is sometimes on E-bay but prices are high. You can also check Sasa as they sell Clio and some Laneige Skincare.

      Hope this helps!

    Hi Miriam,
Also, depending on where you live, check out your local Korean stores. I get mine at various Korean stores around town (Seattle, WA). I bet LA Korean stores would carry a ton of this brand. Sigh… 🙂 Hope this also helps!

Hi sunny, I am in Seattle too, could you please tell me the location of a Korean store for this makeup? Thanks!

    Dear Muse,

I am desperately searching for this nail polish…all I know is that it says Castledew on the bottle so it must be by VOV. I knew you reviewed lots of foreign brands so I came here to check but I only saw the eyeshadow reviews. I am also interested in trying their blush but I’d love to see swatches first. 🙁
