Bobbi Brown Cabana Corals Review & Swatches Bobbi Brown Nectar Shimmer Brick Review & Swatches

Ahh Bobbi Brown Cabana Corals….possibly the most thrilling collection to release this Spring in the Muse’s humblest opinion. Coral, peaches, oranges, etc…seem to really suit my complexion and I absolutely adore them so of course I’m all about the new Cabana Corals Collection.

Wonderful job as always Bobbi.

Jump!

If nothing else please for the love of makeup get yourself the new Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Nectar ($38). Absurdly beautiful with a warm array of corals, oranges, and peaches. It’s stunning peeps and it’s yearning to grace your collection. It can easily be used on eyes and cheeks. You can highlight with it or if you’re daring enough go ahead and use it as a blush as it’s pigmented enough to work as such. It gives cheeks a kiss of coral that irresistible.

I played around with a few of the shades released with the collection but tonight or something this weekend I need to hit up my counter because I seriously need more goodness.

Another golden pick is the new Bobbi Brown Pot Rogue Cabo Coral. Cabo Coral is a dirty coral shade which creates a great peachy base to place your Nectar Shimmer Brick on top. I love the Pot Rogues as they work on lips and cheeks and supply long lasting, pigmented color.

I also got the chance to play around with some of the new Bobbi Brown Metallic Lip Colors, Bobbi Brown Lip Colors, and Bobbi Brown Shimmer Lip Glosses. I have to say some of these color are just popping. So fresh and fabulous for Spring!

Bobbi Brown Metallic Lip Color Coral Reef is a sheer, nude shade of coral which I’m wearing in my pic. It’s one of those your lips but better shades that looks natural yet stunning on. Bobbi Brown Lip Color California Coral is a deep matte coral that’s very fitting and complimenting with the collection. It’s a straight to the point coral that flatters a peachy or coral blush perfectly.

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Lip Gloss Sunset Beach pairs up nicely with Coral Reef Metallic Lip Color (I have both on in my picture) and delivers a pop of shimmering coral to your pout. And finally Bobbi Brown Shimmer Lip Gloss in Coral Sand is a sandy golden beige for a warmer diversion from the corals.

For my photo below I used Bobbi Brown Pot Rogue in Cabo Coral on my cheeks. I followed up with a sweep of Bobbi Brown Nectar Shimmer Brick on both cheeks. On my eyes I used MAC Penny Shadestick and took the top most color of the Nectar Shimmer Brick blending it into the base of the shadestick. I also used a tiny bit of a gold sparkle in my crease to contrast with the coral of my shadow. I complete the look with Coral Reef Lipstick and Sunset Beach Shimmer Gloss.

Overall, Bobbi Brown Cabana Corals has my heart. It’s possibly my most favorite Spring 2010 Collection to date. I think both warmer and cooler tones can find at least one item in the collection that will flatter and delight their complexion. It’s one of those timeless yet fun collections that keeps makeup fresh and beautiful.

Very Muse Approved for purchase with one minor rant. I’d have loved to seen a promo image with a look. I love the Bobbi Brown models so I’d have adored a look with these shades. Wouldn’t that be killer?

P.S. Just a brief note. The light bulb in my makeup room is really killing the photos of my swatches. Sorry about that. I need to get up there and change it.

Available now from Bobbi Brown.

  • suz

love the eye shadow look. very warm and beautiful on you. I wouldn’t mind getting that…and believe it or not..I have never ever tried warm colors…like browns, Coral colors, peaches…..etc…they just don’t go well with my medium fair skin tone…it just looks weird on a middle-eastern like myself but sure love that eye shadow look!

    • the Muse

aw thanks suz 😀 *Hugs* I’m medium fair myself and it goes fab!!!! You should go swatch and play you may find a love!

  • Marina

I really don’t like you, Muse, after this post lol
Now I have to get even more than I wanted!!!
btw, I totally agree that it’s the best Spring collection so far ( only Chanel is better; ) )

    • the Muse

haha marina can’t help me self it’s all so gorg!!!!! 😀 nope this trumps Chanel for me 🙂

  • Marley

Oh, you evil lemming-maker….I need the Shimmerbrick and the Pot Rouge now.

  • jojoba

i am with you all the way! this is one of the rare BB collections that actually grabbed my attention and i don’t even like BB that much! i thought this could be the SB that i could use and after seeing the swatch, i am very sure of that. the colours on you are a little warm for your colouring in my opinion but that make them suit me better! HAHAHAHA. wishful thinking eh? maybe i want them so much that i have to think they work better on me. 😛

    • the Muse

jojoba gorgeous isn’t it!??? Do you think so? I always feel like peaces work best for me 😀 but you could be right! haha I like your mentality you’re too cute! I look forward to seeing your review when you haul!

  • Ronnie

Muse you’re killing me!! This is one set that I love absolutely everything in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahh you’re the thorn in my pocketbook.

  • Inês

Indeed, these are all gorgeous, and your FOTD is beautiful. What saves me from bankruptcy is that there’s only one Bobbi Brown counter here and it’s on a mall that I don’t visit often XD

  • Miss_M

I’m really looking forward to this collection. I’m normally a pink and pinky/beige kinda girl, but I love corals in the summer.

I don’t know if you can get your hands on drugstore brand Catrice (which is really popular in Europe), but their new Nude Sensation line also has great corals in it…and nothing is over E3,- euro’s !!

    • the Muse

miss m seems like alot of coral hitting the scene for Summer, I hope it keeps up! Really love a little heat with Summer 😀 damn wish I could but Catrice is a tough one to nail down!

  • lyn

Oooh, very pretty! I’m waiting for this collection to arrive on our shores because I definitely want Nectar and Coral Reef.

  • chacha berlin

neiman marcus has a cabana coral eye and lip kit that is fabu…… 6 eyeshadows, 4 lip colors , 2 from the new collection. goes along great with the shimmerbrick and all the lipglosses. enjoy !

    • the Muse

chacha I know gorgeous! I ordered it a few days ago can’t wait to get 🙂

  • aretha

gorgeous hun! <3 corals on you =) how does this pot rouge compare to the calypso coral which is being discontinued?

    • the Muse

hey aretha you’re too kind thanks 🙂

seems like calypso is less warm and dirty and is a truer peach/coral. If that makes sense. Where as this is stronger with warmth and slightly brown to the peach.

  • sonia

OMG…I loved it!!!! The shimmer is gorgeous!!! A must have for sure!! tks again!

  • Lisa

Oh my god! Does anyone know CPR? Cause I think I’m about to pass out after seeing this. Haha

Here I was trying to be so good and ignore this collection to save some money….and here you are tempting me!!! Bad Muse!!! Bad!!

I HAVE TO HAVE THE POT ROUGE AND CORAL REEF LIPPIE. It is gorgeous! I’m all about peach colors as I am so fair, they look so gorg. And it’s hard to find a peach color done well for fair skin. Or at least I think so. Love love love….
Tuesday on my day off I may have to go play and pick some up <3

    • the Muse

haha Lisa! 🙂 I’m so sorry but you must HAVE it 😀 it’s so pretty! Omg can’t WAIT to hear your thoughts stop back tell me the good word please?!

  • Reggi

MUSE!!!!! …you’re totally ruining my no buy spree =( how moisturizing are the lippies?? they’re so gorgeous!!

    • the Muse

      LOL sorry reggie! 😀

They are quite nice, moisturizing and have a nice gleam 🙂

  • mochamishmash

    • the Muse

  • shontay

Muse I went to Nordstroms two days ago and I couldn’t believe my eyes. These are my first BB products and I am in love. I bought Pink Quartz shimmer brick and 2 lipsticks in Calypso Glaze and Cabo Coral. I love it!

  • OrchidStatic

Coral Reef looks gorgeous! Closest thing I’ve seen to MAC’s Lollipop Loving – and I really miss my Lollipop Loving 🙁

    • the Muse

Orchid actually good one! it does indeed compare well to lollipop loving 🙂

  • Jessie

I want the shimmer brick, I WANT the shimmer brick! sigh~

It looks so much more pigmented than the older ones

  • Pretty Things

Dear Muse, you sweet girl, I want to let you know I’ve been reading your site and love the writing, swatching and all-around good will. You seem like a peach. I also loved your reviews of the LE BB Mauve Palette and UD’s new PP, Eden. You have me cheerleading in the background.

And this post almost tempted me to make a purchase… until I clicked through. Perhaps it was bad lighting, or a bad camera day (mine defies reality all the time) or just a miss on Bobbi Brown’s part but the color on your cheeks and nose and lips was… in total contrast to what I expected. I see pink, and lots of it.

Your eotd was fabulous, though… pure, eye-opening color, perfectly done. Worthy of envy. Can I have your brows and lashes please? Gorgeous natural beauty.

    With love,
    Pretty.

  • Nina

Hi, I’ve been a silent reader of your blog for quite sometimes now, and I rarely purchase anything without your approval!
I love your blog and your reviews, and one thing I’m agreed upon is that you really should change the lighting to make the swatches look better!
    Thanks Muse!

    • the Muse

hi nina. Thanks so much for reading my blog, appreciate it greatly. At the moment the light was going out but overall I don’t think my lightening is that bad? But not sure 😀 I’m def not an expert in the field of photographing but I def try to give you as good a photos as I can but sometimes it’s tough to capture a product.

  • knownever

I’ve been into the promo photos of this collection for so long and finally someone got their hands on the collection! Unfortunately, now I’m not feeling it as much…

  • Miss Scarlet

I bought the pot rouge today and its GORGEOUS. And the SA invited me to go back and get my makeup done there next week, so I can try some more of the collection out. Result 🙂
    Thanks for another great review

    • the Muse

yay miss scarlet 🙂 You’re MOST welcome so glad it helped! Did you haul more stuff after your make over?! 🙂

  • Vanessa

  • amelie

hey! the muse! i wanted to ask u a quick question- ok, i have the bobbie brown shimmer brick in nectar, yes its wonderful!!!! but i also found out that MAC’s In The Groove collection (last week) also has a similar product to BB’s nectar. i’ve been ok youtube and so many makeup gurus and collectionsits are going crazy!!! i go on different websites like MAC, Bloomingdales, Ebay and Amazon, and these two specific items are sold out- Mineralized Skinfinish in Stereo Rose and MAC creamsheen lipstick in Jazzed. on amazon.com its going for $75 (stereo rose) and ebay prices are out of control! well now i got caught in all this drama over this MSF, ppl have said that its corally with some kind of shimmer. i want to know if bobbie brown’s shimmer brick in nectar is similar to MAC’s Mineralized Skinfinish in Stereo Rose? thanks:)
