Covergirl & Olay Simply Ageless Eye Concealer

I think I’m about ready to spread the word on the new Covergirl & Olay Simply Ageless Eye Concealer. Last week I told you about the corrector as they have released a new concealer plus a corrector for extra coverage.

Covergirl & Olay Simply Ageless Eye Concealer 1

Have a little jump to see what I’m feeling!

Covergirl & Olay Simply Ageless Eye Concealer pretty much suffers all the same pitfalls I experienced with the corrector. The product seems like a god sent after one swatch but sadly fails to work for me.

First off the concealer isn’t incredibly creamy but it is moist and and hydrating on my finger. It’s comparable in texture to the Balm Time Balm Concealer. It’s a tad dense but still manages to swatch easily. Now it blends flawlessly under my eyes, not badly at all however it seems to be incredibly drying after in place and proceeds to crease and cake within a few minutes.

I absolutely love the texture of this but sadly it fails to work for me. My eyes are well hydrated prior to use with heavy eye cream and primer however even with all that prepping it still manages to sit unnaturally above my skin and just causes dryness.

Overall, I’d probably recommend it for younger eyes, I recognize the irony in that considering it’s meant for aging eyes. The formula is pigmented and blends very well however the strange way it sits on my skin and creases makes it a no likey for me. Somehow I’m guessing it’s a product you have to try for yourself as some may love it.

Anyone try it yet?

Ack, that’s really too bad… I was thinking of trying this one, but now I think I’ll pass!! I tend to have similar taste in concealer as you do, Muse, so your opinion means a lot. Thanks for the honest review of it. 🙂

    • the Muse

mmm jen I dunno the corrector and the concealer failed to impress me. quite saddened as I overall like the feel of it and the look but it sits unnaturally on top of my skin. 😛 aw my pleasure!!!!!!!!! *hugs*

I came online to see if anyone else’s experience was the same, and I found your post. I had the same experience. I’m in my early 40s starting to see some fine lines under my eyes. I’m a sucker for anything “anti-aging” for around the eyes.I bought the corrector not really being sure what the difference between the concealer and corrector was, but figured “corrector” sounded like it did more. The skin under my eyes gets really dry, chalky looking and crepey a couple minutes after I apply it, and I also make sure to have a good amount of eye cream and primer on before putting it on.

    • the Muse

sharon ya really disappointing wasn’t it? the corrector is actually for darker circles as the yellow cancels out the darkness 🙂 I returned it, it simply didn’t work for me even with proper prepping and priming what a let down 🙁

You know what I just bought a week or two ago and really like is the Tarte the Eraser Concealer. I don’t usually like concealers that have a brush on it that you twist up, but I really like the coverage of this one and it doesn’t dry around my eyes. Not necessarily “anti-aging” but since it looks good and covers fairly well, that alone is anti-aging! Thanks for replying, your website is great for a makeup junkie like me, I’m glad I found it!

        • the Muse

Hi Sharon! The Eraser is very good 😀 I like it alot! True but really sometimes stuff is over hyped when it comes to anti aging 🙂 My HG is Bobbi Brown Concealer Palette but I’m such a concealer junkie I keep trying more 😀

Aw thanks!!!!!!!!!! so glad you enjoy it! Sorry for the delayed reply actually, sometimes I get overwhelmed with comments *hugs*

          Hope we talk again soon!

  • lisa

Just wanted to say I used it and my eyes have big red spots all around them I have never once had to deal with it! Dont take the chance its been over a week and I still have this rash and a bad head ake.
    Thanks

    • the Muse

aw lisa sorry to hear that’s very weird. I didn’t experience that myself. Perhaps you should contact covergirl and ask what could have caused the problem perhaps some ingred?

  • lisa

I dont know I called them and they are going to send me a cupon for the cost of the concealer! I dont have any allergies what so ever. When I went to the doctor he said he see’s this all the time.. I was shocked it was the first time for me and I hope the last time my face hurts. Thanks so much for the reply Muse.

    • the Muse

hi lisa sorry for the delayed reply. That was nice of them! omg I’m so sorry 🙁 I hope you feel better soon hun! 🙁 You’re most welcome *hugs* and stay away from that concealer!!!!!!!

    • the Muse

hi upma. thanks for the comment. I don’t really shop makeup at walmart so i’m not familiar with their return policy. sorry I can’t be of more help, good luck!

  • kimeeissocoollike

I hate the fact that this only comes in 4-5 colors. I bought 2, one was too dark, so I chose a lighter one. Then it was TOO light. Ughh. Very dissapointed. It should work for people who has the EXACT skin tone.

  • jackie

i just bought this product and i love it. im 16 years old but i have really dark circles because i have insomnia. insomnia gives me the deepest of circles. this product covers them right up 🙂

I have to say that when I read your review, I had a little bit of a sad moment. 🙁 1st: It looks so pretty and wonderful sitting in the package and 2: It’s CG. Even though I have moved onward and upward from my CG days (way back in high school), I still have a fondness in my heart for them. I had already bought a pot of it a few days prior to reading this and I was hoping it would moisturize really well. I have some scarring on the side of my eye from a car accident, and while it doesn’t look bad, the more hydrated you keep a scar, the less noticeable it is.

I tried the product too, and I hate that it settles into lines and creases. I guess CG really is better suited for a younger audience. Thanks Musey Poo for your honest assessment of this product and keep them coming – please.

    • the Muse

hi emily! about keeping it hydrated, have you tried argan oil? ;-D that stuff is magic girl! And yeah…this was terribly drying and just awful ;-( On a side note Kevin Beautymaker makes a wonderful hydrating concealer that may very well work to hide your little woe…! I wanna say this was amazing b/c the concept is great but the formula just stinks overall! Aw it’s my pleasure!!!!!!!!!! thank you for visiting and commenting, I appreciate your feedback so much!

  • Littlecreek81

I am honestly surprised about the bad experiences. I bought the concealer and corrector and have loved them! I apply it in this order: primer, corrector, foundation, concealer. I need very little product even though I have very dark circles. I have combination oily/normal skin and haven’t noticed any drying in that area. I have really enjoyed this concealer and very excited I took a chance on it (I also am a sucker for anything anti-aging, I do NOT want wrinkles around my eyes). 🙂

I bought the Simply Ageless Eye Concealer 220 and find it useles. I paid
$12.00 and I am wondering if I can return it . It does not conceal anything.
The other products which are supposed to be used with it are also expensive
and if they do not work then it is not worth it. Besides, I was surprised to
find that there are three different products that need to be applied to get
a result. You do not say so in your add. I wonder if Ellen knows that she
is being used. Must send her an email.

  • Nancy

I am 18 and I just bought this product yesterday and sadly it didn’t work on me. My dark circles are still noticible. Any suggestions?

  • Alizza

This is the best product I ever used thanks for review it covers my moles and pimples thanks to this without the corrector it really covers well with a finishing loose or pressed powder it is so perfect! 

  • Chubbs

I actually really love this product ! Mind you I am a concealer hoarder with awful dark circles and fine lines near my inner tear duct water line and usually buy and use high end ones such as MUFE full cover, mac prolong wear, amazing cosmetics, etc. I moisturize first, then layer the product on with any small concealer brush, pat down everything out with my dollar store makeup sponges, then set with maybelline dream matte powder. I’m pretty sure you have tons of other superior cover up cosmetics but hope this works for you and others since It works for me!!

  • Patricia

I have the Eye concealer and use it as a foundation. Its the best Ive ever used on my face love it love it. Easy to use and easy to carry in purse. Thanks GC….

    • lise

sorry ladies…with so many concealers thrown into the mix I am not sure which one this last post by Patricia is talking about…she mentions the Eye concealer but not sure which one exactly…thanks!!!

  • Bettye fowles

I am looking for the small jar 205 eye concealer. I do not need foundation only eye concealer 205. I used it off shelf many years and it was discontinued and only stick form which does not compare. I have ordered 2 of them in the past online and I hope to do so again. Thank you bettye

  • Bettye

I am very sincere about locating 205 cover girl eye concealer in the little pot. I have tried the new replacement and am terribly unhappy about it. If I can buy several of the original I m up for it…
    Please. Thanks
