Reader’s Request: Bihada Ichizoku Make Up Base Review

Mmmm god I hate silicon primers but the silly cute packaging on Bihada Ichizoku FORCED me to buy it.

After my review on the Aqua Gel from Bihada Ichizoku a reader kindly requested I review the primer. Lucky enough I do in fact own it so doing the review was easy.

Bihada Ichizoku Make Up Base is a silicon base primer so I haven’t given the product as much love as I should have but it’s nice none the less!

Take a little jump!

The primer has a marshmallow-like feel. It’s not as heavy as most silicon primers and overall actually has a very pleasant texture. I find one of the plus sides is the fact that it doesn’t pill (roll off the face in small balls) and actually works quite well at prepping under my eyes where fine lines have crept up on me.

I don’t have larger pores to fill which is why in most cases I avoid silicon primers plus I don’t like the way they make my face feel. I admit the main appeal of this primer was the packaging which was too sweet to pass up on.

This product contains moisturizing ingredients such as egg Protein, hydrolyzed Silk, ubiquinone, and hot spring water.

This product is designed to be resistant to sweat and grease, which will keep your make-up wearing longer. Wearing it does tend to keep my BB cream or foundation fresher a little bit longer since it creates a solid barrier between my skin which allows my base to lay on top of the primer rather than directly on my skin.

It is pretty expensive at 1260 yen (around $12) and even discounted at a Japanese drugstore (20-30% off) it still runs expensive as the tube is about the size of a trail size of toothpaste.

Overall, it’s a nice primer but nothing to get to worked into a foam about. The cute packaging is basically what appeals most and what will sell the item to most beauty junkies like myself. If you can find it for an inexpensive price tag it may be worthy of a haul.

I got mine from www.adambeauty.com for close to retail. Not sure if he has it available anymore as it was some time ago.
