Loving the Spring weather that’s hit New York earlier than usual today. I think I heard it’s going to be 72 degrees tomorrow, hello early Summer! Any cool plans for the weekend?
Tomorrow night I’m heading to Lucky Cheng’s with some friends, oh yea Tranny love! Tonight I’m getting my hippie chick out and seeing America in concert, happy days.
Anyway instead of boring you with the details of my so called life how about a review?
Checking out Covergirl Shine Blast Lip Gloss today!

I’ve been meaning to pick up a few Covergirl Shine Blast Lip Glosses for a while now but never indulged. They tempt me from their evil display at my local drugstore and as I past by I hear them whispering to please buy them.
So let’s see what’s the deal.
Interesting applicator! It’s a slanted doe foot applicator but, strangely enough, it looks like it has claws or something. The applicator isn’t a typical full size sponge but very slim and has three slits in it. The entire design seems to do well at saturating color onto the applicator in a major way.
Honestly, the gloss could prove to be perfect due to the interesting applicator, pretty shades, and price tag of around $7-$8.
However…..
Mmmm formula is a tad bit weak. Appears most of the shades are subtle which I don’t really mind but the texture is quite thin and the name of the product is slightly misleading, “Shine Blast”? Mmm not so much shine really. The formula runs a bit on the watery side however if layered on you can get a decent look to lips that leans more towards being naturally shiny rather than dramatically shiny and glossy. The good news is it lacks stick and tack so you aren’t left with lips full of crazy sticky gloss. The bad news is the lack of tackiness belittles the wear time and has you reapplying within an hour or two.
The colors I tried out were 825 (Nude Brown), 860 (Peachy Coral), 840 (Bubblegum Pink Shimmer), and 845 (Glittery Gold).
Overall, if you’re a chronic lip gloss person that’s applying and reapplying daily, I’d say Covergirl Shine Blast Lip Gloss will fit perfectly well into your purse or desk drawer. However, if you’re expecting a heavy duty glossy finish this probably won’t give that to you sadly.
I like these for days I’m running around on errands, touch ups throughout the day, or just for a more natural look. If I want more drama I go with a thicker gloss.
Very nice but not awesome.
Anyone try?
